please help. i have a whining noise on my 6 speed only while in gear coming from the outside. it varies with rpm changes and goes away if i press the clutch. it's not too loud but it doesn't feel right. i can also hear some "sucking" noise when my windows are open. it also varies with rpm but it is there even in neutral. i have about 1200 mi on it but never paid attention to it before. does anyone else have that problem? any help is appreciated. i've searched the board but only found posts about similar problem with the auto.

hmmmm, i've heard the sucking noise but that's just the air box doing it's thing. Haven't noticed it a whining noise but i'll keep an eye out for it.

I noticed a little whine on mine too, but after all my mods, I don't really notice it anymore.

thank you guys, zapata, that's what i thought the sucking noise was but wasn't sure. but the whine sounds pretty suspicious. i'm not sure but i think it wasn't there before.

I don't think I've heard the whining, certainly not anything that goes away with clutch depression. I'll listen for it next time I drive
