sounds like some practice is definately necessary to get the feel of this. I guess one thing I should have mentioned is that its street night tomorrow, the tree is fully lit reds and yellows then straight to green(i guess like a street light) so I'm not sure if I should still follow this

typer, that is some good advice. though i havent launched with a manual fwd v6 honda yet (will soon!), preloading is the key with any fwd car. For example, with my sced auto, i achieved the best launches with tq braking (preloading).
The reason preloading helps is that when you release all power, the car has already lifted its nose and there is less of a nose hop when you finally launch. If i were to launch from idle, the nose would jump up instantly with lots of unwanted upward travel. This sudden shock produces the most pronounced jump in the front end, which is perfect for RWD launching but has the opposite effect on our FWD layout.
If you can get many runs in, try various techniques to see what fits you best. I think 4k is a bit high, but i havent launched a manual fwd before so...
Finally, try each technique 2-3 times before moving to the next (if you get 8+ runs). This way you will know which launch consistently netted a better 60 footer.
Goodluck and let us know the (hopefully good) results!
