6000K HID bulb
hey did anyone upgrade their HID blub to 6000k?? I got a 2003 CLS... the stock 4300K bulb has this yellowish color .... so I am thinking to get the 6000K "white color" upgrade......... But I am just wondering does it make a huge different from the stock and the 6000K bulb? thankz

from the driverside it looks a little blue/purple. if you compare it side to side its A BIG differeance in light output (more) but if you dont' have them side by side other people will think its just normal stock hids. one cool thing is it warms up Dark purple, then blue then whitish/purplish/blue

There is loss of visibility with 6000k. ABout 10-15%...but you gain a nicer color.

I just got osram 6k aux lights put on. Very noticeable difference as soon as I first turned them on. NICE purple to them...but the stock 03 bulbs' lower temps are brighter...I like the combo alot.

Here ya go:
Philips 6000K D2R or D2S: $230 shipped
Osram 6000K D2R or D2S: $215 shipped
Philips 6000K 9006 Fog Conversion Kit: $470 shipped
Osram 6000K 9006 Fog Conversion Kit: $454 shipped
The kits and bulbs all come with a one year warranty.
One thing to note about the Osram kits. They are OE kits (most car companies use them) so Osram requires their stickers be removed from the ballasts since they're not for personal resale. So the bulbs will have Osram on them but not the ballasts. However if you check the serial on it you will see it's Osram.
As for the link, I do not believe that we are allowed to post to another forum. I have tried before. So go there yourself and look under the for sale section if you're interested.
BTW, I'm doing this. This guy takes paypal or money order. Paypal is much quicker, but an extra 5%.

Please remember...the HIDs at 4300k is the most optimal and brighest HID bulbs you can get as far as visibility. It's the color that is most similar to sunlight. Anything above that you actually start losing brightness. Also grounds that are dark, dark black, it will suck the light up real bad so that it doesn't even look like you have your headlights on. Same thing with heavy rain.

ouch I wouldn't go that high. 6000k is still in the alright range but nothing higher than that.
OEM HID setup's use 4100k - 4300k. BMW and such look bluer/purple because of the projection headlights. They way the housings are made too, also changes the output color.
