6000k Arriving Tomorrow!!!

DANGIT!! when i got home and checked the tracking number, i see UPS tried to deliver the package, i have to sign for it....anyway, i bought some phillips ultinon (6000k) lights. I plan on taking the cl to a very dark place and taking good quality pics before, one oem and one 6000k, and after the installation. Are there any pics that you guys want me to take, or do you just want me to do a complete DIY thread since there isnt a very good one on the site anyway. (its up to you guys, i need to put my new canon rebel to work anyway!!)

.....lemme know

why would you need a diy for changing headlight bulbs?

If I like your pics I'll buy them too. The only thing preventing me right now is the contrast of 6000K and the amber corner lights. If the headlights are too blue im thinking the orange might stand out too much. Im glad u started this thread

I believe the stock HID's are 4300K. If you need upgraded HID Bulbs, 6000k or 8000k, PM me.

i have the phillips 6000K, it lights up PURE white, very nice.

my advice, when you get the headlight out, remove the torx screw that holds the cap in place and put in a regular screw, this will make for easier access in the future

the reason i took my headlight out was because i didnt have a torx security bit, do i need to figure out a way to get the screw out... resulted in skilled maneuvers with pliers... couldnt be done with them in the car.

Thumbs up And the verdict is.....

Ok so i broke my 1gb flash card, so you dont get any DIY pics, i will retake them with my other camera if anyone needs any, but i did install the lights. My first impression was that there wasnt alot of difference. As the night wore on the more and more different they look.

**All the pics are after at least 5 mins of being on, no warmup pics.

The first three pics are of my OEM lights.

The next pics are the Ultinon 6000K bulbs.

The OEM bulbs at warmup are very close to the color of the 6000K bulbs, on the other hand, the 6000K bulbs are the most insane purple/blue color ive ever seen in headlights!!!

MY opinion is that the bulbs look a lot more CLASSY not RICEY!!! I was afraid of them looking like rice, but they actually look very, very nice. Its a cool blue out of the housing, and extreme white on the ground. I dont really notice there being less light. The light that is projected is more white than the OEM bulbs which would, i assume, make it comparable to OEM in rainy conditions. I wouldnt think cops would have a prob with them either. They have just enough tint to them to set you apart from the rest of the OEM HID's out there.****If you have ever thought about buying these bulbs, go ahead and do it, you'll love em.

Very good add on

If anyone wants any other pics of anything, let me know

I used two different cameras, so the 6000K pics are slightly dimmer than they appear, but still very close to the OEMS (That LED License plate light has lexus written all over it!!)

i'm honestly a bit suprised that you have a blue/purple tint, my 6,000s and from all HID 6,000-6,500 lights up pure white...

none the less, looks real nice, gotta love stock hids

OEM> 6000k...the OEM just looks so much brighter. and how can you say the 6000k is more white than the oem? 4300k is the closest to sunlight you can get

i took pictures... you can judge the diff for yourself. I know the lights arent literally as bright but the color looks better. IMO

oh ok...the color is pretty nice looking, a little purple, but you never can tell from pics. i thought you were saying the 6000k was brighter as in output, but thanks for clarifying cause the 4300k puts out far more lumens.

yea i think its like 15-20% less, sounds like a lot, but i really cant tell a big difference. its not so much dimmer, but more or less a different kind of light. Does that make sense? i was very worried about that, i think if you want them, or are sceptical about it, buy 'em. worse case scenario, you dont like the way they look, sell em on AZ! some will by them, but most likely you will like them.
