60 foots
what kinds of 60 foots have you guys been getting on the 6MT or 5AT? Please specify which and/or list mods.
I went out to the tracks last night and couldn't get any lower than a 2.2xx . Perhaps I don't know what's wrong.
Any tips on launching would be appreciated. I'm running a 6MT CLS w/ I/H/E and on Potenza S03s. I figured my 60's should be at least in the 2.1 or 2.0 range. I'm no expert at launching so sill learning.
The conditions last night were mid 70s and 50% humidity. I'm not sure what the elevation is but it was in San Antonio, TX.

2.2x is pretty darn good for a 6-Speed on street tires. I don't think there is much room to improve over that without DR's. You might be able to get a little bit more by blocking the rear springs.

civic4982,
w/ the 6speed it's a bit more diff cause we have the HLSD....great for turns....not so good for the track because it cuts power. At the track we want wheel spin and the HLSD doesn't allow for it. It is MUCH more difficult in our cars that the auto. You really need to see how the track is for your tire pressure.

I can easily spin my wheels. No issues there at all. Problem witht the HLSD....it can be your best friend or worst enemy from the standing start. With my setup i need to launch pretty high 3.5K< for the wheels to spin enough to over come the grip of the rubber but not spin so much that the HLSD goes nuts and i'm left going no where.
when i say wheel spin i mean slight wheel spin. Obviously no wheel spin is ideal but on our cars with engine mounts being the way they are.....

I couldn't launch at anything above about 1500 revs without spinning too much. Anything above that netted me 2.4+ short times. My best short times were in the mid 2.3 range with leaving at about 1300 revs.

2.2 60FT. for me consistently.
Times are 14.4-14.5 all in 60 degree plus temps all summer long.
I have gotton a few 2.1 in the cold weather running at 14.3
I have all the Comptech bolt-ons minus the S/C and the UR pullies running on Z-rated Dunlop SP-9000's.

Lead Footed
2.1-2.2 range - with Toyo T1-S
tire pressure at 23lbs and launch RPM between 1,800 and 2,200 depending on how sticky the track is that night.
Or how cold which is a problem at night.

Hey Civic what was your times, I run the same set up on the stock tires, the last time i was at the track i only had the intake and my best time was 14.61 with a 2.29 60ft, but i have ran 14.6's with 2.3x, these cars are just hard to launch, with stock tires i launch around 1500k rpms's

i usually run 2.2's.
i have run some 2.19's and even a 2.17.
25 psi, TB~2500 rpm, mash the gas while simultaniously releasing the brake and go.

My best is 2.25s on stock tires. I had one a 2.0 on Nittos 555 street tire. I do not know if it was fluke or timing error. I could not repeat it. I could say I am consitent at 2.3-2.4.

TQ > MPG
The best I was able to get was a 2.306. I'm sure at a better track I could get a mid or high 2.2, but I doubt any better than that. I ran a 14.5 @ 96.5 (best so far) with that 2.3

I finally found a way for my street tires to pull low 2.1 sec consistently in 60ft time. The bad news is you have to really smoke your tires, just like John Force. Make sure they are hot and sticky. I have ES100 235/40/18 and I pulled low 2.1 sec in my 60ft time. I did it 3 consecutive times.
