60,000 Mile Service Recommendations

Hello,

So my 2002 CL Type S is about to hit 60,000 miles...I have put every single mile on this car. Has anyone done this service to their CL? Should this be done by the dealer only(about $1,300) or can I take it somewhere else? What do you all recommend based on past experience?

Should I do the standard oi, cabin filter, air filter and tire rotation or should I also do all fluid flushes (radiator, brake, transmission, etc.)?

What about replacing the timing belt and water pump...very expensive...is this really necessary at 60,000 miles?

BTW...is a cabin air filter really 100 bucks including install?

Appreciate your help!

Not much needed to done at 60k. Same stuff that they/you should be doing every oil change. Check the fluids. Change the oil. Change out the cabin air filter. They run about $20 or less on eBay and from your local parts store and can be changed out yourself in less then 20 minutes. Don't pay the stealership to do it. You don't need to change your coolant, timing belt, or water pump until the 105k service. Tire rotation should be happening every 10k miles or so anyways. Air filter takes less then 5 minutes to do yourself and costs less then $10 at your local parts store.

Nothing you can't do yourself with very basic tools.

Thanks for the heads up...from searching i'm assuming the cabin air filter is the one behind the glove box, right? I'll take care of that myself.

I think i'll take your advice on the timing belt and water pump...the bastards wanted around $300 just for labor!

$1300 is an extremely high price just for a 60k service that is way out of line. All the dealers I checked wanted anywhere from $340-$500.
Where are you?
