6-speeders... solution for the acceleration 'lull'
Guys.
I think you remember about 6-8 months back... I posed a question about this momentary 'lull' that appears when you immediateley floor the 6-speed CL-S. Most of you apparently have experienced it and have found it quite perplexing. Well...
I think I have found the solution... well, at least it worked for me!
It's the TPS. During my experimentation (albeit destructive in many cases!), I had to remove and notch my TPS. I found that the problem is eliminated by twiddling with the TPS and repositioning it slightly advanced. You might have to 'notch' the TPS because it only has so much adjustment range. Don't go overboard... or the car will run strange!
Now... floor it at 2K-3K RPM in 1st gear and it spins to redline!
Enjoy...!!

I have a 03' 6-speed and feel the lag you are talking about. please post some pics and specific directions. I have a limited knowledge of my car under the hood. sounds good. what effects will this have on other parts of the engine. what is it actualy fooling the engine into doing for more performance. does this add hp or better throttle response
thanks

I'll have to put everything back to stock over the weekend, so I'll take some pics then.
Some things here:
(1) You won't gain ANY hp or torque... nada!
(2) I wouldn't recommend 'notching' the TPS like I stated before... warranty issues etc.
I still haven't tried this on a stock Throttle-Body... so wait until the weekend.
TypeR... wait a tad on your efforts, if you dont mind

Yeah... if you are concerned about the engine/drivetrain warranty, don't do anything with the TPS.
The TPS bolts don't have a screw-head... hence in order to unscrew/remove the TPS, you have to either drill through the screws or notch a line for a screw-driver. I don't know if the dealer will notice that... but notching the actual TPS... they will
surely find out.
