Looks good.
You can definitely see the difference of the 6-Speed model in that one rear pipe.

Looks like the ones from Scalberts’s AUTO are going to be for sale soon.

If that is it then I feel better actually. In fact that won't be too hard at all if the changes are limited to the rear manifold. I'll need to climb under the car to get a real feel for what is needed but by the looks of it there is only a 1/2" indention.

I also have a message into Comptech asking about swapping out parts, modifying existing or supplying the specifications on the changes. I’m not opposed to selling my headers and buying new one’s, I’m just trying to determine the least costly move and I still feel it will be to keep mine and swap or modify the needed parts.

True, maybe you could just buy the rear piece that is interfering if that’s the only change.
Looks like the front is the same.

That is all I can tell from the pic, a little dip to the right in the rear manifold left pipe. The real question is if it affects the lower A-Pipe which I doubt.

Comptech knows that there are a limited number of 6-Speeds being made and cannot justify a complete redesign on less than 5% of the similar market (since the TL and CL share the headers) without a significant price increase. So I would guess that this process is done parallel to the 5-Speed headers with just that minimum change.

We'll see though if I get a response back from them and what they recommend.

For reference look at the rear bank of the Prototype Headers.
If Comptech had to add that little “bend” to fit the 6-Speed, there is no way the Prototype ones are going to fit back there without a similar mod.

For the record, I’m not sure if this is a photo of their latest design.
They are doing a test fit on one of our members 6-Speed cars this Sunday so we will find out soon.

Smitty,

I told you those things were beautiful!!! Glad to see you like them----GET THEM INSTALLED!!!

Actually, Comptech is leaving the re-design they did for the 6-Speed cars as the new "design" for the V6 headers. This way they only have to have one part number instead of the 2 they have now. The price is not going to change on them either...

As far as an exchange, I don't know how they would treat that...?

Thanks
Dean

Based on that I am sure that the only chnages are to the rear manifold and that single pipe. That could certainly be modified but I do hope Comptech can supply a reasonable exchage for that single part.

Hech, I'd be willing to pay $100 or so to get the correct fit.

ooooo.....pretty....

you finally got those pics uploaded, huh? Yeah, server sucks for uploading.

For those who have done headers, how difficult is it to get them on and off? I believe Smitty and I are going to get this bad boy put in before some Auto-X-ing this weekend (and hopefully springs???)

Scalbert...you said three hours for Sways and Headers. Any tips & tricks?

Refer to this thread:

But now looking at my hands and arms, I can't say I came out well. My right hand looks like it has been in a blender not to mention the bruises on my arms...
