Unhappy 5th gear

is there nething that can b done to provide more get up to 5th gear? when the car shifted n2 5th 2day i felt it really slow down. i was going about 110 when it shifted and then it felt pretty sluggish after that. I have gotten it up to 125 with no big problem b4. From 115 to 125 it took alittle bit, but not like it was going to take 2day. Could the colder weather have nething to do with this. i dont think that it would but im really not sure. is there nething that is realitively inexpensive that would help out? i dont want to turbo it or nething (way too much $$$). Nething that is under 300 will will b good. by the way its a 01 cls with about 59,000 miles

5th gear is a 2nd overdrive gear, not much is gonna help it. Its there for low gas consumption, not performance.

Just get headers and call it a day. You won't regret it

i have been thinking aobut getting headers and cai. i just really dont have enough money right now. will the headers really improve it much? i no that they dont provide alot of hp but will it affect 5th any? the only problem im gonna have with the headers is getting sum1 to instal them (labor is no joke). about how much is it for the headers and instilation??

and who should i go to? the honad place. or another trusted local shop?

Stop thinking. It will only slow you down.

5th is only for cruising. You should not expect to get a lot of performance out of it. Now if you're in 5th and want some pop, downshift to 4th while accelerating.

Sounds like you need your license taken away if you want to drive 125 all the time. Also, the colder weather actually helps your engine. Lastly, if $300 is too much money then don't even think about modding your car.

the car is capable of reaching the limiter in 4th, why do you want 5th?

i do no the risks of going fast and i dont do 125 all the time. i have only hit 125 once and i was only going about 110 2day. i hardly go over 95. i only go vover 95 about once every month or so (probably not that often). and i do have the money for sum stuff. i just really dont want to do alot. im paying for college myself, insurance, gas, car note, supporting my gf, house note, and i still like to go out. so im kinda tight on the extra money that i do have. the only things that im really planning on doing is adding headers and cai and possibly an under drive pulley and bigger brake kit. im not going to change the look of it at all

No kidding, that was painful enough to read. Don't think, just drive. Enjoy the ride and like Ravin said "just downshift to 4th while accelerating."

The "search" tool on this site is a helpful tool. It will answer all your questions and clear confusion. Trust me I know.

Yeah. The Autos love that.

BTW - an SC will cure those 5th gear blues.

im supporting her because her mother died the day after christmas and she doesnt know her father. so she really has nobody there for her. she lives with her grandmother and they dont do much for her. she has to buy her own groceries, gas for her grandmothers car, pay for her laundry to get done, and alot of other stuff. she is working and uses all of her money and so i give her some money also. i dont have to do it but i know that she really needs somethings and i try to do what i can for her

Um I am sorry man but IMO you shouldn't be putting people bussiness out on the form. it sucks and all I know but maybe you should just save your money but IMO if you want some lil bang for buck get UR pulleys go small before you go big.....
