Hi I had the same year/color CL-S6 as you. Let me tell you. Thats a great car for a guy your age. I bought mine brand knew back when I was 23yo. I enjoyed it. Welcome to the board. I see you're pretty new still. I'll email you pix of mine shoot me an email... parasurfer1979@gmail.com. BTW that kit will be fine. I bought a cheap kit when i had my 08 Accord Coupe and they did fine. I'll also say that at first i did 6000k and i got tired of cars BMW's/ Lexus/ ETC with stock hids being brighter. so I swapped to 5000k which gace me a tad bluer than stock but was as btight as stock 4100k units.

I digress to the other members on this thread. I heard that 55Watt HID's are tough in projectors is this true? Are there even 55 what Bi-xenon kits available?

Just got the eBay 55 watt Kitt, nothing philips about them like it says, installed them last night although not plug and play for sure... Honestly I can't tell the difference from my factory kit in 6k " bought the 55watt 6k" and the cutoff is nowhere near what is pictured! Let me in on the secret bro!

Thats because pretty much all plug and play kits use 35watt bulbs, not 55watt bulbs and the ballasts are usually boosted. Very few companies make real 55w bulbs/ballasts.

You 10k with a 55w ballast will look more like 6k 35w color.
If you want 10k color with 55w you will need higher than 12k .
I think civic posted the k scale of both 35 vs 55 side by side for me before and 55w fades the color lighter/ pale in comparison to the 35.
I will try to find it.

soi got my DDM kit in today and im trying to install everything right now, but im a little confused on the install.

the kit is plug and play if you use the High beam plug as the power source, but will it have different light output if i do that or is it 55w low beam no matter what?

??? The kit won't be plug and play from DDM. You have to splice the connector from the factor harness because your replacing the stock balast. Unless your just doing bulbs.

Wow, this thread is great. I'll go for 55w.

If i orderred from DDM:

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

Do i need to select the HID Harness "Dual In & Dual Out" ? Need the adaptor cable H1/H7 to 9006 ? . My accura is 2003 CL Stype.

I'm thinking to choose:
55 watt
D2R (+$15.00)
5000K
Error Eliminator Type 3 $15.00

Is it correct for lowbeam ?

Thanks everyone.

Nope, all you need to do is order the D2R kit, don't need the error eliminator or anything else. A little modifying to the housing to install the new bulbs, but other than that, just the kit.

I am contemplating buying 8000K D2R HID bulbs and using my OE 35W ballast for my low beams and replacing my high beams with a 5000K 55W 9005 HID kit...

How are your lamps holding up with the 55W kits? Any problems/issues? What are you guys using for your high beams?

When a car is equipped with bi-xenons, I think they utilize only one ballast. When you switch from low to high, how can the HID bulbs become brighter using the same ballast? Do bi-xenons only adjust the cut-off? You would think the low beams would utilize a 35W ballast and the high beams utilize a 55W ballast...

If your going to get 55w please get projectors... The reason I say this is because the amount of glare exerted from your reflective housings is down right dangerous and can blind/irritate other drivers.

Depending on the type of projectors you get 55w will not be a problem at all. If you dont go with the projector setup I personally would go with a 50w morimoto ballast with 5000k or 6000k morimoto bulbs. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=163

But you must also understand that if you use a 50 or 55w ballast your bulb life will suffer. Which is why I go with 35w 6000k in bi-xenon projectors which allows you to project all the light in one precise area, gives you a nice cut off and a wicked flicker effect resembling the TSX, S2000.

Check out my cut off:

The bulbs dont change output. The cutoff shield drops out of the way. I love my Bi-xenons and the output of them, its so much better than the stock hids my car came with. I just ordered some better glass for them. Cant wait to get them in it.
