45K Service costing $299

My car is in service in other problems, i have 48000miles on the clock, service guy tells me i'm due a 45K inspection. I told him ok but i feel $299 is a bit much.

What to you guys think...

I got a TL loaner for the week, nearly got a 05 RL loaner ... missed out by 5mins lol

But I never paid $299 for anything on my CLS, except for aftermarket parts

Look in your manual and tell me what all is recommended.

i know for a FACT that all that stuff didnt cost me $299 (i have a 97 CL 2.2 but that shouldnt matter.)

Go and bother them about it saying its way too much and that you'll just hit up another mechanic (if you live in the Doral/Miami Springs/South Miami area, I can refer you to mine.)

Lets see. Oil you can change yourself, tires can be inspected by you and need to be rotated every 6,000 miles roughly,. you should be able to easily check most of your fluid levels, my air filter is a K&N so no replacing there, so right there you should reduce the bill a bunch just by doing some of it yourself.

Might want to do some of the easy stuff yourself, but I'd reccomend Tischer Acura in Laurel.

You are getting rape. All that is basic maintenance stuff that can be performed by yourself or at your local grease/oil pit for much less.

Try Tischer in Laurel, MD. Or you can go to Accurate Auto in Annapolis (10 Taylor Ave.). Accurate Auto does a good job and may be cheaper, but you can never go wrong with Tischer!!

Yea, when I bring mine in, me and the guy go over everything that Im gonna do myself and it ends up being only a couple of things they do. They only have a couple of TSX loaners and a butload of RSX's. If you're not there early you dont get any of them. I remember one time they gave me a minivan. That was painful. Probably a good thing they dont give out TL's cause I would end up trading my car in after driving that one for a week.

Do you belong to any of these aviation forums?

Manual states that at 45K you should change coolant and brake fluid. That should cost approximately 100.00 together. I did those and oil and filter and asked for a general inspection they usually recommend at 15,000 miles and got out for about $200.00.

I just did the 60k service ... while at 70k and had it done for $291 out-the-door at my Acura mechanic. I had him fix my IAVC while he was at it too.
