43 offset good for our CL-S??

Guys, I am looking at a set of rims 17x7 with 43 offset, question:
I have a Comptech spring drop, will the 43 offset be a concern???

no matter what it will rub, but keep the tire diameter stock size. It will be minimal rubbing. Even more so when you get the system.

won't rub, I have 18x7.5 and 19x8 both with a 43 offset, but the tires may make the difference. by the way, didn't you get the enkei's and why 17"?

I have comptech springs and my 18x7.5 with off set 42 is fine. I had 4 people in the car before and they don't rub.

i spoke with a rep from Volk Racing and he has said that the +45 is the best offset for our car and that was for a set of 19x8 wheels

With or without a drop? If with a drop, how low?

+43, 7" wide will fit just fine. i doubt it will rub at all w/ a comptech drop.

HRE mentioned a number closer to +52. (This in reference to 7.5" and 8" wide wheels with 17", 18", and 19" diameters)

The general range is: +48 to +52

Lowering, tire make, manual, and other factors (custom suspension) will impact this number.

YMMV

Yes I got the Enkei, but I have an opportunity to get a set of 5zigen super six in hyperblack that I can use during the winter time on my 215/50ZR17 Continental Contiextreme Contacts to replace the stocks!

Rondog, what are you talking about, you rub every once in a while in the rear, ive been there once or twice when you had the 18's also. Dont forget Classy's suspension sits lower than yours for some reason. Classy no matter which way you slice it, you will rub every once in a while. That offset is way too low. SlyTls has 18x7.5 with a 43 offset and 225 40 tires and he rubbed like a bitch on a comptech drop. You may not rub every day, but i will cut my sack off if you dont rub every once in a while.

I'm just looking out. I hate rubbing, i wouldnt wish the fear and terror that i have experienced with rubbing. If you are going 17's, there are many more options for dirt cheap at the right offset.

So would the 'right' offset be 48 for 18/235/40s? Would that guarantee no rubbing?

I had 42 offset.....for 1 week The tire store had to special order me a set of 50 offset and no problems ever. Plus the 42 offset make the car look ricey. The whells stick out too far..
