3400 Miles later......

So I took my road trip. 3400 miles & change in 2 weeks on my CLS. I love these seats! No problems with straight 10 hour drives.

South FL to TN to NYC then back.

Funny I didn't see 1 CLS on the roads. Car performed great! Not a single problem.

Had fun, relaxed.

Although I don't know how you NYC guys can lower your cars & put on 18's or 19's.
Man I thought I was going to pop a few tires on some of the NYC roads. They got SO bad since I drove a lowered car there a few years ago.
Felt like I was abusing the hell out of my poor car.

Was a good trip though.

You are absolutely right. Whenever I go to NY, I don't drive the CL. I either rent a car, or take the SUV since the roads are bad.

Good to know the car treated you well on your long road trip. Did you ever have a doubt that it wouldn't? It's an Acura... What could go wrong.

Cool. Good to hear you didn't have any problems.

I took my CL from here (KY) to Tampa last year and didn't have any problems.

In fact, my CL has never once had a breakdown that required me to buy a new part, and I'm at 109,000 miles

Yep, also the SI expressway, BQE, FDR, The hutch, saw mill, & the NJ turnpike.

You must have jinxed yourself because I saw your other tread about how your car wouldn't start suddenly. Sucks.

Sounds like fun. A month or so ago I drove from Minneapolis to Indiana in a day. Stayed there for another day and then back on the following day. Great trip to be alone on the drive with my thoughts, listen to some music, enjoy some high speed fun, and relax. Got up to 36mpg while cruising at 80mph most of the time. Going to be heading out to Mt. Rushmore in a couple weeks with some friends but we'll likely rent a car as to not put so many miles on our own (figured it'll cost about $60 each between the 3 of us for the car and gas, gotta love employee discounts from companies you no longer work for). Love the way the CL drives on long trips. Seats could use plenty more lumbar adjustment for my back and adjustable side bolsters would be nice (guess I was spoiled with the 16-way seats on my last car) but still a comfy seat. Passing doesn't even require a downshift and it's nice and quiet with the windows up at speed. I'm sure there will be many more trips with it this summer (to the cabin and another to North Carolina). Get out there and enjoy the summer while it's here.

I didn't keep track of MPG but I was getting around 380 miles on a full tank. Filling up with about 14 gallons at each fill up. At 80-85 mph & AC on most of the time. It was HOT driving up. My temp gauge read 95 most of the time. Road heat I guess.

Yeah, but I think I know what the problem is now (PGM-FI Main Relay Circuit going bad)

I'm pretty sure I can do a quick re-solder and have it going again, though, without buying any new parts. So hopefully the streak continues

Did you get new tires for the trip? Been waiting to hear what choice you went with?

Thanks for not saying anything. I'm sure most of the people in said states would have met up with you for a minute.

Glad you had an awesome trip.

I was going to go the meet in VA beach. Never got to it. I drove mostly at night also. Had a friend with me too.

The Toyo's still had enough tread for the trip & they still seem too, though they are squealing like a mother now.
Still not sure what I'm replacing them with yet.
