There is no doubt in my mind that the CL-S 6 speed has a superior drive train. Much better gas mileage and almost as much power, higher redline and a far better 6 speed transmission. The G35 clutch is like a truck clutch. The 6 speed is far smoother for downshifting.
I won't get into all of this, but the statement about gas mileage is completely false.

My Z gets better gas mileage than my CLS did. Same commute, same gas. I am getting on average ~2mpg better than my CL. The CL loved to gulp gas in VTEC, so unless I drove like an old man, it's EPA figures are misleading.

Everyone is different. I like the CL. The G35 6 speed sucks in my opinion. You may think otherwise and thats fine. But get over it.
You test drove both and still think that?
The most common complaint from us CL guys is the no RWD.
How can you possibly say the G35 6 speed sucks?
Maybe you don't know how to drive a RWD car and that's why you don't like it.

So far as performance wise, putting looks aside, I'll have to say that the G35 is a great combination for a competitive autocorss-able car and the CLS is not.

I like the CL too that's why I bought one... But if it was up to me I'd have a G35 or 350Z in my garage as well.

It's all opinion guys, and we all have our own. I didn't see anyone flaming the CLS when joe/carol/whoever came out with their "I think the g35 sucks "comment. People were asking objective questions. Replying with "your car sucks" is childish. ShawnS agreeing with him is even more disappointing. Especially considering his age. Grow up guys, this isn't a contest. IMO the person who started this thread is not to blame for this behavior, the forum members who take it personally, get bent out of shape, and lash out are.

Am I "defensive" about my car? No not at all. A made the best choice for me and price had nothing to do with it. If you like and own a G35 thats just fine. However, there seem to be an awful lot of G35 owners that keep posting about how wonderful their cars are. Many of them seem (and yes I am reading between the lines) to be implying that everyone agrees the G is the preferred "ride" and letting us poor CL owners what we are missing. After a bit it gets tiring. Its a CL forum. I drove the G half a dozen times. Was very disspointed with the manual transmission/clutch. Good engineering results in light precise controls. The G clutch is the heaviest I have experienced in a long long time. Lack of engineering attention..Sorry one man's opinion.

Do I have anemic legs? Well I have played in pick up games (Volleyball) with players who eventually played in the olympics. I can swim 45 min without stopping.. (at 55). Not bragging but I wonder if you will be in that condition when you reach that age?

And I'm not trying to state that "my car is better than your car". I'm mearly pointing out that for many its not obvious that the g35 is the best car. RWD or not.
