300M tried to play. Why?!
Some middle-aged guy in a 300M was next to me at a light. We both roll into first and then I hear him winding out first as my car's into 2nd gear, so I wind out second and pull on his first-into-second. I was laughing out loud at why he even bothered. I was just like, "buhbye" and waved in my rearview. He gave up partway through second. I wound out second and he was way back. He turned off into some development that I guess was his, before the next light.

Because he thinks his car with 252hp is fast, when in reality it's a high-15/low-16 car that most Accords can keep up with. I think I've smoked more middle-aged and older guys in 300's than any other car.

Dodge is classic (with the exception of the viper) at overrating their engines. When compared to the other makers cars, they're slower, everywhere but post as much or more HP and no more weight.
The 300 M is disappointing. back in the late 50s, while the 300s weren't all that fast they were quick for their time. The new M is just a fancy sedan, overpriced from chrysler.
Should they go back to basics, they have the power now. The hemi is rated 345/375 for the new trucks with an iron block. An aluminum block would make the weight and chrysler could introduce a nice sedan and coupe to compete with the V8 bimmer, lexus, mb; should outshine a lincoln ls or STS; and would provide a potential platform for a Charger to battle back with the pontiac GTO, v8, rwd coupes, 6 spd trans, 300+ HP....sounds like what the CL should become at least the 300hp part...but probably won't.

GREAT KILL!! Those cars have a 3.5 liter V-6 and 250+ hp and has average acceleration. It looks different but the inside has serious quality issues.
A Type-S will kill a 300M any day of the week.

The 5 spd auto and RWD will REALLY help the new STS.
Has anyone seen the old charger with the Viper enginge in it?

Caddy has worked the FWD to the max with the STS; however, it just doesn't cut it right now when you compare what the german and jap cars offer for the same money, that RWD handling.
I'll be happy to see GM back in the rwd business with cars, they make great V8s (Northstar and LS1/6), the 4l60e (soon to be 5) is a great trans, plus they throw the borg warner 6 speed around like it was cheap or something.
The caddy line will be nice, with the CTS (hopefully getting the ls1 or northstar) for a m3/c32 amg fighter, and the STS (300 and 400 HP editions as well as the SLR will really put them back on the map. GM has the tecnology, they need to showcase it and win back the american car buyers that flock to bmw, mb, lexus, audi as soon as they begin to earn a respectable income.
