I WILL be at the national Zine meet this year if it kills me
Progress looks great. I hope you actually come this time. I have been dissapointed the last few years not seeing you show up. We need more 2g support. How far are you from King motorsports? My car will be up there this winter getting work done. After this work all I will really have left is wide body work.

Yea, ive been disappointed in not being able to make it too.
They are a little over an hour from me. Im hoping to be able to get the car wired so that i can bring it to them to be tuned this winter at some point.
What about removing the door moldings and filling in that gap, then smoothing it out? I think that would look better.
I thought about that, but with the way the skin is molded so that the trim sits inside of it, the only way to make it look good/right is to remove the entire section of the door skin and welding in an entire strip to replace it. I filled a section in with body filler just to see how it would look and something just seemed off
I think the door moldings will add some character/angle to the side of the car....
...and I meant I am coming up there ...I should have paid you and King motorsport a visit when I was traveling to Chi-town
and do come to the meet....if you do, I know for a fact I aint winning shit....it was a close one between Brian and myself for 2nd spot this go around anyway

You should have.
And the way your car looks/shines you should be winning.

Started working on the lower rockers so that they flare out enough to meet up with the flares.
All dun with the rockers and shaping them. Now to do the finish detail work.
Oh, and got the rear diffuser plastic welded on. Just waiting for the rear lower body kit to arrive so i can mold it into the diffuser to finish that off so it blends properly.
Just an early teaser
OEM rear ground effect kit didnt flow well into the rear diffuser so im making my own here too. Bad pics, but it shows the rear as i was test fitting and shaping.
will you wait until spring to paint? How close of a fit was that diffuser from the get go? Are you going to paint part of the diffuser black?
Ill paint hopefully in the coming weeks (garage is heated). How close was it? Not too far off. Had to remove a good section of bumper to make it fit but exhaust opening was exactly the same (except for it being a dual tip opening). As for color, part will be black. The strip that goes under the exhaust tip opening and up across to the other side body color, the center section and area around the exhaust will be black.
I couldnt resist throwing a little clear on it tonight (even though i have to sand it all down and smooth it out some. this was just a test spray to see if i liked the color).
I must have missed it, 3.7L and what are your power #s and are you boosted?
Its NA, And i havent dynoed it yet. Still waiting on finishing up my dual TBs and better headers. I may have dynoed it this past fall but i had a odd clutch failure where the splines on the clutch spun thus me starting the widebody while it sat. I havent driven it more than a mile since putting in the new clutch. Its fast though. I could get the 255s to spin just about anywhere in 2nd gear and was able to easily walk away from a ('12-'13?) 335i from 40-120

Hey!!!! Come and watch my kids so i dont have too and i could get much more accomplished much faster...
I feel ya brother. When I'm at the shop M-F, I'm too busy to work on my car. When I'm off on the weekends, I'm with my five kids. Love my life....wouldn't trade it for the world and will EVENTUALLY finish my build.
I must say you have damn fine impressive skills with body work Kris. Can't wait to see the final product!

There should be 1 more day a week for us where we dont have to work, or do family stuff where we could designate it to ourselves to do what ever we please
Some day we both might be finished with our cars
Thank you
