BTW, $2500 is just the parts right? How much to install? It sounds like better bang-for-the-buck than the (still nonexistant) auto supercharger...and you'll be able to change the spark plugs when you need to.

i wonder what the light wheel/tire combo will yield

Plus its also very unique since most people don't even know you can order a BMW with cloth seats and leather trim. You can even get the cloth part in red if you want to go for that, "HEY LOOK AT ME!!!" look.
This picture makes them look grey but they are actually black:
P.S. It's also half as much as buying the full leather seats.

i may be gettting a dyno this month...i think one of the keys to having a good dyno is run it hard fro a while before...i notice my car get's faster and faster with every pass at the track,i assume it's learning new fuel curves for the current driving conditions over the low RPM trip to the track....howabout 13.6? or even imagine a set of SSR comps 13.5? :wow:
my dyno prediction is 260/232 putting to the ground what stockers make at the crank....

Hey TypeR,
You haven't answered this question by Seattle Cl-S yet.
I would like to know the answer as well.

if we could only find a way to chip the ecu to the adjusted settings is this not possible due to the OBDII?

Happy CL-S Pilot
Last run was it on your new Centerline wheels?
How are they holding up?
If I will ever buy a 19" rims.. I will go with those... However, I am now more interested in 17x7.5 or 17x8 or 18x7.5 or 18x8 weighing some 15 lbs or less...

Safety Car
I still think a 6-spd can run a 13.7 NA without the stroker kit... but that's just my humble opinion! This is not taking anything away from TypeR's run... its very impressive and to him!

Waiting in the staging lanes will be similar to driving to the track. This is when adjustments are being made, not while traveling down the track.

There are numerous explainations for this but the ECU adjusting is not one of them. The ECU does not alter any value while at WOT; it goes into open loop at as little as 50% load or even 25% throttle input.

NOS does not count. That is like when Ben Johnson took steriods to win the Olympics. Yeah he was faster, but he took something.
Any punk can buy a NOS bottle and let it loose. You did the right thing. We are impressed.

DIRECT IGNITION SYSTEM/KNOCK CONTROL
Proper ignition spark timing is critical to engine performance and emission control. This timing constantly changes depending on many factors. If there is too little spark advance for the conditions, then efficiency suffers; if there is too much spark advance, then knocking (or pinging) can result in overheating and engine damage.

That is basic ignition control and could be an issue if fuel octane changed at the track. But if you are running the same fuel then you shouldn't change timing.
Until I can get some reliable ECU data this is just speculation, but from what I have gathered we do not have offset values stored for ignition. In other words, our cars do not store older ignition parameters based on knock counts or lack of. Our cars just runs as much timing as it can for the conditions and backs off when knock is detected. The amount backed off depends on the severity of the knock.
IMO, I still feel it is UC (user confidence) after a few pulls... :P
