3.5L goes 147 MPH
3.5L goes 147 MPH
well i finally bumped the speed gov. it was pretty hard. the bump...i know most people say the cl falls on its face at 110...but the 3.5 continues on to the 147 mark ,and then sends you foward as the fuel cut says no more...this was on a toll road and i was having some fun with the guys i just golfed with in there lincon LS ...i put him 10+ cars back at one of the toll boths...i did get the jump ,but he still would have been back there..
I've got my TL up to around 140. Pennsylvania turnpike east bound, right before exit 24 there's a pit stop. After the pit stop is a mile worth of down hill. Had the car floored until it said 140.
However, w/ out that slight down hill ... I don't think that I would've made it to 140.

I got mine up to 145 this past weekend w/out any problems, in fifth, still had another gear to go, but i was told we are governed at 149...hmmm i really wanna know what our 6speeds will get up to...actually i was scared shitless, but dont tell anybody
Nice, I've hit 130 a couple of times, but it seems like getting that extra 10 or 12 mph would take just as long as getting to 130. Of course, being at about 5,500 feet altitude doesn't do wonders for the engines ability to breath either.....be careful out there, losing it at 130 or so wouldn't do wonders for your future!

I got my TL to 135 when I backed off...it got kinda squirrely which is why I backed off. From 110-130 the car had NOTHING...took as long to put those 25 MPH on as it does to get to 80 form the onramp.

Where in Colorado are you? I am in Colorado too right near south of Denver
Have you noticed most of the gas in Colorado are only 91 octane? Hehe we should get some CL-S people from Colorado and hit that track near C470? I think that would be fun!but seriously though.. Colorado got some reckless drivers and everyone seems to drive an SUV in colorado and they think they own the road!!

I've had my '01 CLS between 140 and 145 before trying to keep up with a Ford Lightning. Funny thing was he was killing me all the way up to about 135 then I started catching up. Those things are a brick aerodynamically. It took a while to get there but once VTEC comes back in 4th its a little better.
I was racing my friend's TT 225, on a big ass highway at 3-4 a.m. on a huge uphill part. Robb knows the highway well.
It was still pulling I couldn't see the TT anymore, still had a few hundred rpms to go in 6th.

Met a guy in NYC this weekend that has hit 197 mph in his stage 3+ S4!!! The thing is pretty much an RS4 now and he is not done modding it yet! I guess he did it on a road in LI where he knows some of the troopers there. He mentioned he had one of them clock him with a radar gun.
This was probably the sweetest S4 I'd ever seen! Had the RS4 bumpers and fenders with 255 tires on it. The car was silver BTW (not silverbullet from the Audi forums). I want an S4!

sorry AC...yes it is. I guess that, a chip, exhaust. I don't think he had a downpipe yet. This car was ridiculous looking! Only issue I had with it is that it was silver (very common S4 color). Blue or black would have been better!
