3.5L Conversion with 0.25OS 05RL Pistons Finally Complete
Alright, just got the car back tonight and it has way more HP and TQ. The mechanic opened it up in front of the shop and lit the tires up (225/45/17 Goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3). Left behind a sweet trail of rubber. I think the tires were a little harder than normal being that it was sitting for well over a month but still very impressed. Not to mention they installed my CT headers and UR underdrive crank pulley at the same time.
Car is fun and I cannot wait to completely stomp on it. Got over 700 more miles to go till complete break in
Next up is to send my torque converter over to the shop to have it rebuilt and custom stall installed. I hope that goes well. I'll send an update and track times after I have a chance to break it in.
If anybody is looking to do this conversion, PM me and I can send you info for every part, every complication, time frames for each section of build and any pricing info that you will need.
Got the green light from the shop for a small shot of nitrous after break in so if the stall goes well, it should be quite a beast.

The only strange thing I have noticed is that my temp gauge reads normal, but my engine bay is HOT! The front fenders are hot as if they were sitting out in the baking sun all day. Is this normal? I may just be noticing something normal, but I just don't remember it being this hot. Even my intake manifold which used to be touchable for more than a second (thermoblok spacers) now is too hot to leave my hand on it for more than a second.

You guys are dreaming to think you get 50-75 hp from an additional 300cc without changing anything else?!? Keep in mind going from a bone-stock setup to a 3.5 with I/H/E might get you 50 - but most of that is the header! The 3.5 will give you more torque which translates to a more impressive 'butt-dyno' and help you down the 1/4 as well, but 50-75... not!
Besides that, good job on your car

I can belive you gained quite alot of torque and horse. I bumped my compresion up in my 2.2 and went from 142.28 hp and 136.71 torque to nearly 190 hp and 176 tq !! i have other internal mod's too but with your setup, i can see 20-40 in terms of gain.

The only mod that requires a custom hood would be direct port nitrous, which MTBIKR had, which is why he had a custom hood. AV6 may have had the direct port too, which is why he had a custom hood, but I don't remember

He went from a J30A1 to a J35 with Type-S heads and the Hope Systems Intercooler. That's the reason for the hood I believe.

I'll have to agree with you on that for your car, but for my car personally given the unique setup of my engine, I should have a bit more output. But 550 more miles to go and I'll get the true numbers

That's a pretty huge gain! What compression did you end up with?
