3.5L 3 races roush,ram air,99+GT

well the first one i really wouldnt call a race we were going about 45-50 ,i was pacing him ,i gave a couple jerks of the throttle, like the bass fisherman i am...i waited....boom he struck it was only a milli second delay and i was WOT too....and slowly inching up until i hit the rev limiter...but i wanna be clear this was just alittle for fun thing because there was traffic just ahead of us and neither of us could have gone any further...it had a roll cage(convertible)and the red and black badge on the side...next was this WS6...it had the small ram air hood and was a 6mt i know this because he rolled back at a light be fore going...although he didnt leave with me at the light we got beside eachother again this was just above 60mph i had to take my foot off the gas to down shift into 2nd but again i was anticapating this and did it like lighning...he was laughing when he started like " watch this" he put me right on his bumper and i stayed there until about 100+...im thinking he wasnt smiling so big after that cause when he let off my momentum took me just past him then he lagged back and went real slow compared to the way he'd been driving...he did have 3 passengers they were his girlfriend i assume and to younger girls so weight was an issue but they couldnt have been but 70 lbs each and maybe 100 for the girlfriend...moral victory...then there was the straight up twice from a light clear winner race with the 5mt GT
i got out in front of traffic hoping to bring this guy with me...you see i had been fishing again...and he came...and like it had been ment to be...the light goes yellow and were side by side...i look over and it's on! he squeeling his tires and i probably am too...i cant hear over his car...by the end of first im inching ahead and end of scond im out in front ,just so there's no mistaking what happened i extend it alittle further into third to about 2-3 cars...he gets beside me and is looking like he doesnt wanna look but i yell good run we catch another light and i say "wanna go again?" he says sure...this is that same road that might sound fimilair where the left lane ends at about 85 MPH...i tell him his lane ends...he says"I'll be fine" so we go roll into this one alittle better and im gaining again...this road is about 1.5 miles of no access two lane 55MPH so i take it to about 120 5 cars + i can defintely see assuming im running speed that are like a 13.9 that if a GT was launched hard the way they can be that one might pull off a 13.9 @100 but i think it'll take a 1.9** 60' can that be done on a stock GT PullT? other wise i dont see how they could go that fast...but i could be under estimating weather in other colder drier parts of the country...if thats the case then im faster there too...of BTW my friend was following me in his CRV gonna help me with my ceiling fan thats giving me a problem and he witnessed the roush deal....it was funny...the best part about it all is...these people all expect to destroy me...

Just out of curiousity, what Roush was it? If its a stage II, then its not much more than a GT, I think it comes with 290hp? I ran the stage III again with his 3.73gears, w-pipe, and short throw again, this time from a 25mph roll, and he pulled a 1/2 car on me b/c of the gearing and my lack of NOS at such a low speed...we did it from 45mph also again, and we were door to door til about 135.....i love having this sleeper V6....

Anyways, good run with the WS6, im sure he was trying to show off in front of the hunnies, but you put him in his place and made him think twice....sometimes i think thats better than beating them by like 3 cars......

no...like i said it went from about 60 so not only did i let him make the move but i had to take my foot off the gas to downshift into 2nd...that delay put me on his rear bumper where i stayed. it could have been an LT1 not sure it had the 2 big round fog lights and the small hood that said ram air and it said WS6 on the rear

Nice Kills,
The new Gt's run anywhere form 14.40- 13.90's @ 98- 101 from what I've seen at the track. It really depends on the launch and the driver.

To get a 13 sec run I had 2.01 60 foot. I ran 15 lbs of air in my rear tires and took off from the line like I would leave a stop sign. I would assume a GT would have to run a 2.0x or 2.1x 60 foot to do it.

When I ran my car last I ran a new GT- his 60 ft. was 2.2x and he ran 14.2 @98.7

As for a GT running 13's in Florida or anywhere hot- No way in hell- maybe on DR's w/ a good driver. Mustangs do not like hot air.

2.0X could do it if it's a car/day that traps in the 101-101.5 range. Would be more likely with 2 flat or high 1.9 though.

Yeah it is. My 1st run ever I went 14.6 @ 101.7 w/ a 2.6 60 foot time. I lost to a WRX that had a 1.9 60 foot and ran a 14.1@ 98 mph.

I've gotten a 2.3 60' and still pulled off a 13.7 @108ish (lots of spin). My best so far is a 13.1 @ 107.7 w/ a 2.1 60'. Damn 2.73s

I finished my suspension & I'll be going to the track by the end of the month. I am confident of high 12s w/ these crappy gears.

Up next: 4:30s

What tire you running? 4.30s will only exacerbate traction problems. I guess with 2.73s, you are prolly bog city though.

The 13.7 w/ 2.3 60' was with bald street tires. The 13.1 was w/ 255/50/16 DRs. I launch fine, but it takes so long for my car to get into my powerband, I am already past the 60'. Spinning is no longer that big of a problem, I just need to get the RPMs up quicker (gears).
