Juniorbean, even though u have an auto, I'm still curious what kinda times u could throw down with the supercharger on your ride...

Anybody got any ideas? below a 13.5? How far below?

3.5L conversion wouldn't work wit hthe CT supercharger... but with just the CT supercharger you should reach high 13s with some good tires... FWD takes a lotta loss for some reason... I'm no expert so don't kno why...

hmmm, I didn't know that the supercharger will only work with the 3.2 liter. I'm assuming comptech or some other company will curtail it to also fit the 3.5L conversion.

It should fit. I don't know what the ultimate compression ratio on the 3.5 will be, but don't see why the S/C won't fit!

You can probably get Rick Case Acura to hook you up with a set of lower compression pistons if you really want.

Someone should be able to get it to work...

However, some considerations:

The injectors might be getting close to being "full-on" (very high duty cycle) with a 3.5L and the S/C.

I don't think the compression would be an issue, as it's close to the stock 3.2L CLS.

The longer stroke generally works nicely with a S/C, but someone would probably want to be willing to "sort the combo" out...

I'd be thinking about getting the power to the road first...

The 3.5L roasted tires and that was with an automatic and sticky tires (no slicks).

The times were low 14s in very hot weather.

The CLS is always going to be a "pig" off the line and needs to make the time up down the track (if it doesn't get a wheelie bar and/or drag slicks). The "bummer" about making up the time "down" the track is the very high wind resistance that is related to velocity^2. This means you need VERY high HP gains to get "reasonable" drops in ET.

To put things in perspective, there are some cars putting down 400HP to the ground with 3300+ lbs that barely make it into the 12-second range (emphasis on "some")

Here's one link:

And its RWD.... not FWD...

The FWD off the line with all that power is also a factor as to why its roasting the tires I think. A RWD car with the same weight and same hp (bolt-on's, 3.5L, and supercharger) wouldn't fry the tires like that off the line, would it?

No, they might put up some smoke, but wouldn't destroy a set of tires in a few runs (and the nasty RWD cars generally have some pretty impressive rubber sitting at the rear of the car).

The weight transfer is actually working to increase the traction in the case of the RWD.
