3.5 conversion?

is it true that there is a 3.5 L conversion for the CL-S? i just got mine 2 weeks ago and instead of spending money on other upgrades, i would definitely consider jumping right into this upgrade. i heard it's done at the rick case dealer in ft. lauderdale, florida. i live in miami so i would definitely pass by the dealer and ask but i'd rather save myself the trip if its just a rumor.
thanks for the help

One of the Fla guys did it by using parts from a 3.5L MDX I think. Not sure of the details. Unless you have mega bucks it was beyond my means.

Rick Case Acura

HP about 315 (crank)
HP at wheels --> about 250 (or more), but there is a lot of area under the curve.
About 5000 bucks.

Don't try to register the car in California, it is for you guys not in the "Peoples Republic of California"

Plan on smoking a lot of tire rubber!

I know that the emission rules are really strict here in Caliprison but will our cars not be emissions compliant if we simply upgrade from 3.2 to 3.5L?

If you upgrade without a CARB approved setup, your walking a dangerous line. Sure, they can't see the internal components, but there is a hefty fine, and I could tell you more about the subject than you care to know (for many reasons).

I would want a car with the CARB approved peices.

Doug (syncivic) said that the 3.5 blew through testing with clean exhaust, but you would have to ask him.

The other issue is who do you go to if something goes wrong?

If this was being sold in Nevada, I might even be tempted, but I don't like the idea of involving third parties with engine part shipments from Cal to FL and back!

mchTypeS has this conversion on his car. he is a post whore on here, so you should able to find some posts from him using the search function. syncivic works at rick case acura and he can give you more info as well. the upgrade gives you a good torque improvement, which doesnt sell cars, but will win you races

That is great advice... One comment, the biggest advantage is the gain in HP across a broad range of RPM, resulting in more power from 4K up vs the 5K up gain from the headers and AEM alone...

Don't forget the Brembos you're gonna need to stop this thing. Otherwise you may as well buy a large stock of OEM rotors and pads.

And don't forget much better tires, otherwise you'll have a very hard time getting it to launch without your tires spinning crazily.
