3.2TL Type-S A-Spec
Toronto, Ontario - Acura Canada announced that Acura 3.2TL Type S A-Spec, which made its debut at Le Salon de l'Auto de Montreal, will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $43,800, $2,000 more than the regular TL Type S. It will arrive at Acura dealerships in Canada in early Spring, 2003.
The A-Spec is equipped with special 17-inch alloy wheels, a full skirt kit, and a unique spoiler with twin red accent lights and tinted headlights. The interior features two-tone (black and blue) leather seats, door trim, steering wheel and shift knob, along with titanium-style interior trim. A-Spec customers will also receive a unique A-Spec leather jacket.
Anyone up there seen one of these?

No one has seen one yet because it's not due out until Feb or March. I did hear that the car will be displayed at the Montreal Car show... so we should hear about it very soon hopefully.
That is the first I've heard about price though. I just hope that the parts become available here. I wouldn't mind those door sills
Here are some pics from the brochure that was released in early November in Canada: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=1

Plus, I did a search and it didn't come up for me either.... I had to search by my username to find it. Weird.
Why would they make performance changes to it? Especially when a new model is due out in 8-10 months. They probably took a handful of 2003 TL's and made some cosmetic changes to create hype and liquidate their inventory before the 2004 TL comes out in the fall... plus they're making more money on it!
I actually think it's a smart move b/c it will work. People are silly like that. Look at models like Eddie Bauer and Nautica edition cars and trucks... mostly cosmetic changes and a badge on an existing model..... and they sell great. Of course those are "designer" labels, but it's similar. This kind of marketing isn't unheard of.

Don't care for the wheels... doesn't make sense to spend extra $2k just to drop another $2k+ on em again. Spoiler is okay, prefer the SEMA (if it ever comes around).
I love the side shots of the black cars w/ the front end smashed together because of the page bend... looks like a freaking BMW!!!
You would hope they'd upgrade the suspension or something in that package. I cannot imagine the costmetic changes to the seats/interior would cost that much to make from the factory lines. Those special editions always seem to sell better and hold their value more.
Personally, I'd go w/ you guys... take that $$$ and upgrade the suspention (w/ ~ 1.5" drop), add headers, and CAI. That's about $2k right?

Thanks, I'll take the performance mods
You'll at least meet me halfway on the springs, sway-bar, and drop right?-- Nihil
Yeah man.. the suspension could use work... some SUV's are lower than our stock ride.. but as for performance mods, it will never happen with the TL line... The percentage of TL owners who mod their cars (aftermarket) is very low..
