3.2 CL-S Fastest FWD Production Car?

Does anyone know if the Acura 3.2 CL-S is the worlds fastest production FWD car? Of course, I'm talking about stock form.

I don't know... But I read somewhere (I think road & track) that the RSX type R will be sold in Japan only and will be the fastest fwd car.

They are still waffling on this -- not clear if it will stay there or come here. One of the car rags mentioned the RSX type R, as a "not yet released for the American market yet."

Ambiguous -- yes/no?

I think the car needs a little more time to gain more attention. Unlike BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche, most people don't really know the setup of our cars have no assosiation in terms of raw performace. I would be interested in seeing some reactions and some stats.

I don't like the claim that the RSX-R will be the world's fastest FWD only b/c I'd be surprised if it will beat a 6speed CLS.

Isn't a stock GTP close to us?
Plus they can just change pulleys and be faster, right?

The R version will be faster then the type S RSX and only sold in Japan. Someone was quoted in R&T saying it will be the fastest fwd car in the world. That concerns me about Acura's plans for the CLS. I was looking for more hp and 6speed.... I guess Acura know's something we don't.

I thought the Cadillac Seville STS, Eldorado ETC and DeVille DTS were the fastest FWD cars. They each have a 4.6L 300hp V8.

The USDM ITR is the fastest FWD 4-cylinder car in america (not sure about the mitsu gst though, i think it's a little bit slower), and we match it...so the type r and type s are the fastest FWD n/a i-4 and v6 in the US

Yup, but generally speaking honda lays the claim the RSX type R with 220 hp will be the fastest. I think the biggest thing with it is weight . I bet it weights a shitload less than our cls.

The RSX-S is going to weigh somewhere near 2700 pounds. Its pretty light. I like to call it the "pocket rocket"

Maybe so, but they are pretty quick. I have seen commercials on tv claiming they were the fastest FWD cars produced.

Maybe before the CL Type-s came out....gotta remember those things tip the scale at like 4000+ lbs. and they 4 speed slush isn't great for acceleration either...besides, no one likes our car...maybe the TL Type-s will be rated as the fastest FWD N/A.
