Hey guys, i got my 2nd ticket today

Damn CHP guy got me right after i missed an accident after a white Odyssey turned into my lane, I downshifted from 3-2 to pass the car on my left. She was on my left rear bumper. I passed and went up and over this little knoll. Sure enough, there was a CHP officer waiting there and pulled out to get me.

I got cited for a 74 in a 50. I WAS NOT GOING THAT FAST!

Anyways, my friend Sam (AkuraCLS) says that in California, I can take a 12 hr traffic school and have it removed from my record.

12 hours is wrong.

it's an 8 hour class like detention.

PLUS, california has online traffic school which is only 2 hours.

i'm about to sign up for the online course to keep something off my record.

 

8 hours is right, 12 hours is usually when you have already gone to traffic school in a 18 month period (not 12-month), you go down to the court beg the judge to let you go again, if he agrees, then it's 12, if this is just an initial ticket, and you havent been to traffic school in an 18 month period or ever, you should be good to go, and you are in LA County, you should be able to go online, a bit more expensive, maybe 30$ or so, but worth it. Of course some courts still refuse online traffic school, so check, cause if not, you will be spending a Sat or two evenings during the week in some junkie hotel lobby covering rules of the road and watching films. I know this because I have gotten so many tickets over the years in SoCal!
