225/45/17 on after-market rims
Does anyone out there have 225/45/17's on after-market wheels, if so which ones?
I know JZ is running these on the stock rims with no problem, but I'd like to change the wheels and make sure that there's no rubbing with the new tire size. Thanks in advance.

Here is a link to a tire/wheel calculator.
You may be surprised to find that the wheel width is going to a have a lot to do with the rubbing. Try out the following link:
Tire & Wheel Combination Calculator
You can check on the 235/45ZR17s on stock wheels (17x7s) that don't rub vs. the 215/50VR17s.
Then try changing the specs (use the data you get from some of the 225 users with wide wheels, and do be sure to ask them if they have tried out rubbing issues with a full tank, 4 people in the car, with lowering.
Here are the specs for the stock tire/wheel comparison:
tire size: 215/50 17
wheel width: 7"
wheel height: 17"
wheel offset: +55
Put in the original numbers, then the 225s or 235s on the stock wheels, then try out some 7.5"/8" wheels with various non-stock offsets. You will want to check this out.
Good luck!
