usually, i don't take it to the dealer until the maintenance light stops flashing. that flashing is just a reminder that it's almost that time to bring it in to the dealer. for a 22K service, you should pay no more than $150. any more than that would be a rip off.

Wrong...all the 22.5k miles include is on oil change and tire rotation. Shouldn't cost more than $40-50 at the dealership, if that's what where you plan on going.

True, it shouldn't cost more than $40-50, but it's $151 (or so) at every acura dealer within 50 miles of me (yes, I called them all).

I'm doing the maintenance myself now (did the 30K recently).

$151 is way too much. Don't pay more than $50 if you insist on going to the dealer. If not, you shouldn't pay that much at some other place.

what i said earlier was just including a buncha inspections. 40-50 bucks is right for oil change and tire rotation.

Thanks all... Great advice.....do i really need to take it to the dealer to get these things done.

I think the only thing I would take it to the dealer for is major stuff. Not really for the minor day to day maintenance.

anyone disagree? agree?

You could definately do it yourself. Oil changes are simple enough to do on your own and I have a local tire place do my rotations for me.

Go down to Discount Tire and have them roatate the tires. They'll charge you a fee, but they will do it for the life of the tires. Then call Cush Acura and Hoehn Acura and ask them to put you on their email and mailing list for maintenance specials. You'll get coupons for $24 oil changes.
