2008 CLS 63 vs. 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo

left lane 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS63 AMG-----$93,975.00
middle lane 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo-----$202,700.00
right lane (me) 1997 Acura CL $2,700.00

obviously i didnt try to get in on this but. there was a middle aged dude driving this yellow Lambo and pulled up next to a guy in his 70's in the benz. they slowed down to catch the light and i saw this whole thing happen. so i cut someone off (i know, not smart) to get into the right lane to see the result. old guy in the benz looked over at the lambo and laughed and procedded to role up his window. couldnt see in it then, all blacked out windows. so the light turns green and off they go. believe it or not, the benz got the lambo by 4 lengths by the next light 1/4 mile down the road.

to make it even better, being very bad-sportsman-like, the lambo ran the red light so he didnt have to sit next to the old guy driving the benz.

Well they do have simlar output - one has a 520HP 5.0 V10 (and a bit more torque most likely) and the other has a 507HP 6.2 V8. The Benz does have a 7 speed compared to the Lambo 6 speed, but I would think the Lambo might be lighter? I am not surprised at the result, but 4 car lengths is alot.

Just because you can afford a Lambo doesn't mean you can drive a Lambo. Miss shift or just can't shift worth a sh*t...alot for dif. variables.
Get two prof. drivers and yea the Lambo will probably win.

I think its something like 512hp 376tq for the lambo and 506hp 462tq for the benz but not sure about the benz those numbers are for the 63 clk amg motor. But i bet it was one hell of a race.

well, you are 100% correct on what your stating. not that it is right or wrong, but when the lambo shifted to 2nd, he chirped the tires so i think he was pretty much on the money. i am sure he had the fun button pressed so he wouldnt peel out when switching.

but hey, who knows. i havent been able to find a vid on these 2 cars, so i dont know. you can find out by looking at the stats for each, but thats not as fun as watching them in action.

my mom has the cls 55 amg and I can tell you even though benz's are heavy, those things can pull (amgs), but a lambo should be able to dust a benz, even amg, except the slr

The new V12 S/SL65's have more torque and almost as much HP as the SLR, check out the Renntech performance site for even more performance...

http://www.renntechmercedes.com/w221_pricelist.pdf

The packages are expensive, but what is 12K if you spent that much on the car, for these results:

S/SL65 PACKAGE 2 - $11,950
Transmission computer, airbox, and
RENNtech ECU upgrade**
part No. 54_230_00_52
TOTAL HP 685 @ 5500 rpm
TOTAL TQ 870 @ 2000 - 3000 rpm

The SLR package gets HP up to 722, but with not as much torque as S/SL65

BRABUS also has created a couple beasts for MB (like a custom bored/stroked 6.3 TTV12 I believe), search BRABUS on youtube.
