2005 slk55 AMG!!!!

not even sure if this is worth posting, but just sighting this amazing vehicle is worth it to me.
every day i have to pick up the mail for my job at AIG. on my way back from the post office, i run in to a slk55 AMG! the new one w/the big v8! i was just next to him staring like an idiot around a 45 roll and then he started to go. i tried to keep up but then he hit it and THAT WAS IT! i had no chance in hell! this thing was sweet! it left my stock cl-s in the dust! i could have tried to race him on a f'ing huffy bike and had the same results! you guys ever see one of these?

Ya I saw that G55 AMG or whatever the other day. I was curious how I would have stacked up from a 20mph roll.

I dont blame ya for trying. I mean I do it jsut to see a certain car in action. If i come across a exotic car or a fat expensive car, I WANT TO SEE THAT CAR IN ACTION! I can see those car at the dealership anytime I want but actually see one on e the raod and see them actually in work is a wonderful site, especailly a car you dont see everyday. I bet the car was sexy huh.

yea it was nice to see how his car performed. the car was outstanding, it looked fresh off the lot(obviously wasnt considering he didnt look concerned about any break in period!)but as you stated...this car was sexy as hell.

test driving one...that would be the greatest. they would never let my young ass test drive that car! i would have to put up my car, apt., the last 21 years of my life, every paycheck from my boring job, and my mother to test drive that thing. the fastest car i ever test drove was a 2003 used cobra(obviously not even close to the same amount of money the AMG costs) and then i couldnt afford it anyway..are you thinking of buying it(unheard of!) or are you just driving it for fun???

My cousin is a head tech for mercedes, and he was telling me that the SLK55 he drove felt just as quick, if not quicker than the SL65. Its a big engine in that little car!!

it feels quick, but definitely not as fast as the sl65. stock 1/4 mile times for the slk55 are around high 12s @ 108mph while the sl65 can do high 11s @ mid 120mph. slap a kleemann s/c on the slk and the sl65 will have some serious competition for less than half the cost.

According to everything at http://66.155.125.17/forums/showthread.php?t=81423 (which is very very reliable info):

SL65:
604hp 738lb/ft 4473 lbs. 7.40 hp/lb 6.06 lb-ft/lb
SLK55:
355hp 376lb/ft 3397 lbs. 9.57 hp/lb 9.03 lb-ft/lb
SLK55 w/ Kleemann goodies:
600hp 561lb/ft 3600 lbs. 6.00 hp/lb 6.42 lb-ft/lb

The SL65 is still the torque king there (and it's surprisingly more aerodynamic too, 0.35 vs 0.30 drag coefficient) so it'll be close. I estimated the weight of the SLK55 Kleemann, btw.
