2004 WRX STI thoughts...

I'm very tempted to put a deposit down for the STI and sell my '01 CLS. I was wondering if anyone else on the board has the itch?

Both of my cars are going back in Oct, have mentioned it before.

I'm not going as extreme as the Viper anymore.

So, I'll probably get an S60R and then eventually get a 2nd car....maybe an STi (depending on $) or something else. Will think long and hard about it, not jumping into anything immediately.

The Volvo won't be an M3 beater and won't be quite as precise as the new S4. But it's still a hot car and priced right.

I knew I wasn't the only one thinking like Minger. I am kicking around the same idea. As far as sticker, expect an MSRP of 30k, with a 5,000 (possibly even 10,000) markup. Does anyone know if Suburu is big on dealer markup? For the sake of comparision, a local Mitsu dealer is marking up their Evos 5k.

I'm sorry but I just don't see it. Don't get me wrong, I really like the WRX, and the STi looks like a vast improvement over it, but overall I don't see it over a CLS 6spd. Obviously it will beat the CL like a red headed step child in times, but I still like the lux in the CLS more.

Side note. We are getting an STi also (already talked -w- the dealer), I just don't think it is a better overall car. If I had to pick one, the CLS6 would win (IMO).

Are these car's comparable first off ? Isn't it like apple's and oranges ? Nice car, but not for me.
Has anyone looked at the new Honda Element ? That's an interesting vehicle I may be looking into for a run-around car/van/suv.....

Either you want a luxury coupe w/good performance (CL-S) OR a compact sedan w/no luxury and GREAT performance!!

I guarantee it'll be WAY faster than the CL-S. BUT, I also guarantee the CL-S is WAY nicer.

Well, I just placed a refundable deposit down for a WRC Blue STI with gold rims! I'm still a little on the fence, but once the car comes in I'm sure I'll be sold. Who knows? Trust me, everytime I drive my CL-S with navi I'm saying what the heck am I doing selling this car, but as soon as I hit the gas that thought goes away...too bad Acura didn't offer stick when I bought the car back in Aug '00.

300hp awd vs 260hp fwd? Its a no brainer.

Check out these wrx videos:

Btw, throw in 1k in mod on the STi and you'll have a 400hp car.
