im sure theyve thought of that...
honda being honda, they dont do V8's cause they are bigger polluters, and they wouldnt make a car that wasnt safer than most in its class. im sure its something that was considered and has been dealt with.

what happens? Well I'm a firefighter so I've about seen all types of wrecks (T-bones,roll overs(my favorite roll over was a retard tried to take a 25 mph at 70 mph trashed that mustang), hit in the rear end, head ons, hit trees/poles.
the element is set up like the Ford and Chevy extended cab pickups. the b-pillar is the solid steel(usually) behind the driver's and passenger's door. I don't like these as much as a traditional B-pillar car or truck.well what i do if a element got t-bone
#1. check and see if you can get victim(s) out the other side door or out the back hatch cause their's no point in cutting up the car if you can get them out another way without cutting it up.
#2. if you can't get in through other side or back hatch. get out your hydralic ram, jaws of life, and cutters.
#3. then look for a "pry point"(this is where you can insert "jaws tips" spread the jaws a little then if you can get in there with your cutters cut the hinges. or depending on how the you got your jaws. I got a award once for quick thinking(this works slick) use your jaws to "pop the hinges off the car"(it's a little quicker)and it's less work for the firefighters(that was on camero front end collision)
