2003 CL-S 6 Headers

It seems that aftermarket companies that make headers for the CL-S 6 are no longer producing them. Anyone know if the A/T headers can be modified to work with the M/T? Thanks

XS-power make a header that will work for the 6-speed. Some guys have ground the rear engine mount to clear the header.

DC Sports also makes their header that we could ship out pretty quickly.

how "off" is the auto set-up?...is it the j pipe or headers themselves...we are going to make custom solid mount for our cls6....is it the rubber mount or the tension strut that causes the problem...just curious

They actually work on the 6 speed? I asked a couple of retailers for the DC products and non of them had any clue.

Went to the SRS site. No listing for a CL. Did you use the 98-02 accord v-6 application?

Went to their site too. Specifically says "Will not fit Manual transmission".

No, they don't. Not sure why Josh posted the DC headers. They are only for auto transmission cars.

You could modify the bracket (grind it down, a lot) to make them fit though.

The rear mount bracket hits the rear 3->1 collector. So there's a bend in it for the 6 speed manual headers.

I went ahead and purchased this set, I like the ringed flange gaskets and the 3-1 seems like it might be a bit on the smaller side compared to other designs and there is not mention of it only fitting auto cars....besides I got it for $120 shipped...haha. For that price I'll get the torch on it and make it fit.

I did. Was back and forth with the guys over there.. they werent sure if it would fit.. so they gave me a discount to test fit them.. fit like a glove no problems.

I initially got a pair of XS-Power but those wouldnt clear the rear mount no matter what I tired

Installed these this evening after work Stainless Racing Header Exhaust Manifold 98 02 Accord 3 0 V6 99 03 TL CL J30A1 | eBay and it went together nicely. I had to pry and fight with the J pipe to get it all lined up but they cleared the rear mount no problem. The bend in the rear downpipe right before it's welded to the main J pipe is very close to the oil pan....very very close. I'll probably drop it at some point and grind off a little material, but I was impressed with the overall quality and fitment...especially for the price. Also a definite increase in power, very noticeable.

if you look at the header on the left in this picture one of the tubes has a kink in it...is this what is required to clear the mount?

Since you have physically looked at both brands, can you tell me if one appeared to be a higher build quality than the other.

When I looked at them XS looked like it might have been a little more durable in terms of the material they used.. i dont know if there is an actual difference.. but all the welds looked the same. First glance I would say XS looked like a little higher quality but not by much. With that being said I have had the SRS on there for almost 2 years now.. no problems so far

Yea, I havent heard too many people having fitment issues with XS. I dont know why mine didnt fit, it was like the bend in the pipe wasnt sharp enough ti clear the mount.

Yes, would require some customization, but we've seen it done before.
