nope the CL-S comes with different exhaust piping diameter maybe a different cat too (but i doubt it). all the way to the cans. But I think the cans are the same on both cars aside from the inlet piping diameter

IIRC the piping does taper down after the y-split. I dont remember what it tapers down to though.

But the piping before the split is indeed 2.25" on the Type S.

so how does the XLR8 cat claim to make more hp by bolting it on if the piping is 2.25 on the exhaust and the cat is 2.5 inlet and outlet. That's kinda pointless isn't it..

unless u upgrade to 2.5 all the way?

LOL this is getting humorous now.

Just wrap a tape measurer around the pipe you want to know the width of and whatever the measurement you get for outer diameter the entire divide that by PI (3.14).

So if u get 5.5inches divide that by 3.14 and the circumference would be X.

* I would have done it already but my car is back at acura AGAIN for the 4th time in 3 months to finally complete my frigging insurance claim/ bent roof etc.

I just measured the pipe on the y-pipe where the muffler bolts on since its unbolted. I got just under 2" so like 1 7/8 seems right.

That was an example, not the exact measurement. You need the non-Type S piping diameter right?

Rajca - You measured the Type S muffler piping right?

Well I know the b-pipe is 2.25" but the mufflers could be just 2.0" after it splits.

What are you going to do with your stock mufflers? You got the 03 CL-S right?

Dont cut them off.
Un bolt them and have the other made to bolt on.
I deleted mine but wanted to keep them a bolt on piece just in case.

It sounded real good before the hi flow cat and aftermarket resonator.
Now, It's crazy loud when I'm on it.
Thinking of finding some fatty mufflers to pipe in.
some sort of greddy or simular in look in hope to tone it down a little.

your good with only a 0.25" difference, they can just expand the pipe the mufflers going on to match it.

Well hold on there.. haha just make sure your piping isn't like the 6th gen Accord where its 2.0" then splits into 1.75" if thats the case and not more similar to the 2.25" to 2.0" then reconsider gettign a 2.0" inlet.

2.0" should be fine if your using two of them on an NA car.
