Is the 2003 Accord 5sp auto same as CL 5 spd auto??

Since they supposedly fixed the auto's around May of 02, and since the 03 Accord came out after that, I'm curious as to how many similarities there are between the two. Do the share engines and tranny's. If so, do they have the same style tranny oil cooler (puck style) as the CL's have?

Also, I saw on here once someone post an actual Acura part number for a tranny cooler kit that was to be added with tranny replacements I thought. I've searched for this number but can't find. All I find is generic tranny cooler posts. If someone has the info for this Acura tranny kit I might be interested. If I supposedly have the fixed tranny, I might be interested in having Acura put on the genuine Acura kit. They could not possibly bitch about that on a warranty issue.

Larry,

depending on who you talk to and who you ask, you get a different story every time about when the tranny problem was fixed, if ever....or when it was even discovered. some dealers STILL wont even acknowledge that the problem even exists.... I suppose we can hope, for Honda's sake, that the tranny has been COMPLETELY fixed for their new accord...it would reflect terribly on them if the new accords tranny's started dropping like flies....with the sheer number of those accords that will be on the road in the next few months and years, even a 1-2% failue rate will amount to a hell of alot of failed trannies and yet another embarrassing situation for Honda/Acura.

As far as i know, there is no transmission cooler available directly from Honda/Acura. There is at least one member that has installed an aftermarket tranny cooler and he has given us good feedback. Its hard to say exactly how effective it is or if its even going to do any good in the long run because these trannys seem to die regardless fo driving style, location, mileage, etc. I am not sure off hand who that person was with the tranny cooler but hopefully a search would turn up that information or maybe they will reply here to your post.

By the way, nice homepage, i love the pool with the cover over it, thats a cool setup!! and nice line-up of bikes!!! oh, and your daughter is really cute too!

I've found those posts using the B&M cooler. I distinctly remember reading a post though where someone published an actual Acura PN for an add-on cooler that was to be used when doing a tranny swap. Anyone who has had the tranny swap, have you seen or did you notice an added cooler in your installation.

Sure whish I could find that post.
