2002 TL remote on a 2001 CL-P???

2002 TL remote on a 2001 CL-P???
I went to my local*** Acura dealer today(Curry Acura in NY) and they said that the 2002TL remote will not work on a 2001CL even if it were re-programed....is this true becuase i heard it could work???or mabye i was just lied to....
***NOTE-Curry Acura is my local dealer not my prefered dealer....i usually go to Acura of Westchester which has better sevrive and more knowledgable staff......

Thanks for the answer dude.....ima go back there tommora and give the "service" guy a good talking too...joking....but seriously some of those guys dont know their a$$ from their elbow.......how much did the remote cost????
