Owned a '00 GT 'Stang for a little over two years. "Classic" American POS interior but I loved that car. My first domestic muscle car and not my last. Roll down the windows, crank the V-8 and all is forgiven . BTW - the current platform is still somewhat based on the original Fairmont chasis . The new '03/'04 MY will finally see a completely new platform based on the DEW chasis (Lincoln LS, Jag S-type). With native IRS :p

Current ride is a Z06 - except the bastards at GM really packed in the goodies for '02 . Oh well - love my car. The point is I have become a muscle car freak. Don't get me wrong - love all cars. But I'm now thoroughly addicted to Detroit iron. As the old saying goes, "there is no substitute for cubic inches". Loved my two Accords but neither ever put a sh!t eating grin on my face like the V-8's have $0.02

Sorry for the novel. Latest rumor is the Sigma platform (new Catera) might serve as a replacement 5th gen F-body. The Aussies get a Holden of this flavor now - RWD, IRS, LS1 motor, 6 speed coupe. 2002 F-bodies are dyno'ing at 300+ rwhp stock. 350 rwhp is no problem with bolt ons. GM intentionally restricted the both airbox & exhaust flow to keep 'Vette owners like me happy! Can't have a $24K POS F-body cranking out the same ponies as my $50K uberkar!

Sux about your ZO6 man....GM really low balled people there.

Anyway your right about the camaros just have restricted a restricted intake and exhaust. I mean the proof is in the pudding...the SS has less power...weighs a ton more...yet is only a tick slower. I bet most dont have less power at all. My little conspiracy.
