2001 cl vs 2003 cl

Hmm--I just took my car into the dealer adn got a 2003 clp as a loaner. I must admit...I really dont like the newer cl. It was a clp but the whole car seemed of a lesser quality to me. The interior doesnt seem as nice, the seats dont seem as cushy.I dont like the rims, or the fact that the headlights are kind of darkened out a little..( I do like the taillights though)Perhaps this difference to me is because its a cl -p non navi and mines a cls with navi...anyone else notice this or is it all due to the fact my car is a cls and this was a clp? The car overall seemed kind of plain to me I guess...anyone else ever compare the two different years closely?

The cl-s has more supportive seats than the cl-p. IMO I think the interior of the cl-p and cl-s arent much different.

From what I was told...they're the same seats....the CL-S just has perforated leather. Other than that, the only difference is the instrument cluster, steering wheel wrap, and shift knobb.

Same seats...different leather
Different guages...CL-S has the titanium guages while the p doesn't
Other than that....interior is identical except for the wood triming...

That pretty much sums it up...also no navigation made the dash not look as fancy...I really like the 2001 cls instrument gauge scheme better as well...Plus I really missed that extra 35 hp...at no point and time did I feel any rush with the clp when flooring it..

Am I imagining things or do the 2001s come with fog lights while the 2003s don't?

Maybe its just me but my 2003 CLS6 is noticeably quieter than my 2001 CLS. I also like the perforated leather side panels in my 2003.

The CL-P has a different version of our engine--isn't the actuator that gives us the extra HP from the same engine?

The CL-P has 16" wheels, we have 17"

The CL-P has softer, more "barcalounger-like" seats while the CL-S has more racing inspired seats--love the side bolsters that cradle you on the S. ....and we have perforated leather.

The CL-S also has a different display (that was true for the 01's) We have silver background.

The CL-P has brown wood-tone plastic the CL-S has black-burl-wood (AKA bowling ball)-look plastic.

I didnt know the CLP had different seats then the CLS. I thought it was just the perforated leather thing...I do really enjoy the side bolsters in the cls.....IMHO I feel the CLS seats are some of the most comfortable I have ever sat in..at least for me..that was a big reason why I purchased the car...that and 260 hp

I heard the '03 has thicker glass or something to help reduce wind noise.
