What is the top speed of the 2001 CL Type-S? How fast have all of you been in yours?

I have heard that the top speed is either 149 or 150 mph. Something like the engine cutoff at 151?? Not sure though, im sure someone has a crazy pic at that speed!

I think Acura claims 147mph. There is some debate as to whether that's governed or drag limited. I've seen 150mph in my car, but with speedometer error who knows how fast I was really going?????

Most of the reports I've heard range from 145-153 mph. Personally, I don't think it can break 150 mph 'true' if it's stock, 147 mph sounds like a reasonable average to me. I have made it up to 127 mph.

It may be possible that the V-AFC is getting some of the folks above 150 mph. There is a suspicious looking line (no, its not the VTEC line) that gets chopped off when the V-AFC gets installed.

I did some calcs and figured that the car would do 155+ with the headers (presuming that the speed limiter -- if it really exists -- goes away).

This question will be answered when:

1. Someone with a stock car goes down a long steep hill at full power with stock tires. (All the upgraded tires have different elastic configurations in their sidewall construction *and* not all of the updated rubber has the exact diameter). (Note: this comment relates to true road speed)

2. Someone without V-AFC determines that they hit a speed limit. Then add the V-AFC and go faster.

3...N All kinds of crazy stuff. Can we go to Le Mans with a radar gun, etc.
