2001 CL - 30,000 Mile Check

I am about due for the 30,000 mile check. As per usual, different dealers want to perform different things to the car. I had the 15,000 mile check and the trans fluid was flushed at that time so I don't think I need it now. What does Acura recommend and how much should I be paying for this check.

I've gotten two estimates: $364.00 and $229.10.

Please advise.

I recommend getting the tranny fluid changes being that our tranny's burn up fluid!! It might not be a good idea to skip it.

Your owners manual should give you a checklist of what's done at each service. As for price.. it varies dealer to dealer. I've seen them range as low as $175 and as high as $400. What most dealers allow you to do is choose what you want done from the checklist.. then give you a price based off of that.....

Not to flaunt conventional wisdom, but I just turned over 50k miles on my 2001 CLS and I have never changed/flushed the tranny fluid. Furthermore, when I check the tranny fluid level I can't see a difference between what's on the dip stick and in the brand new bottle. I'm sorry, but that tells me that after 50,000 miles the tranny fluid is fine. Sure Acura wants you to change it at service intervals. They get a FAT service fee that way!

seems kinda premature for a tranny flush @ only 15k, but i suppose it wont hurt if you got the money

most cars recommend it at 30k, some don't recommend it at all, well at least not till you put maybe 45-50+ k miles on it
