2001 Acura CL type S out the door NEW $$$
Those of us running around with a "2" year old car are now asking ourselves why did I not wait for the 2003 stick. Did we pay too much when the dealer may have known that the stick was coming?? Anyone caring to share what their out the door price was for their 2001 New cl-s or their trade-in value for the car with mileage??? Thanks for the help!

I bought mine when they first came out two years ago. There was not even a rumor of a manual at that time. I think the manual rumors got pretty solid last summer. Fall 2001 release was mentioned. Then it became Spring 2002 which of course came true. If I'd known two years ago that a 6 speed was 2 years away, I would have waited.

$34,000 (ish)
Navi
Full Wood inside, including shifter
Slash Guards
Wind Visor
Spoiler
Wheel Locks
Bimmer dealer offered $21k, 22k miles on her (probably can get a bit more though)
I had no idea a manual would be avail. I definetly would have purchased one if it existed at the time. I prefer a standard transmission.

Well, I had been looking to the CL as a possible Legend Coupe replacement for years. So I was excited about the G2 CL, but when I saw it I was disappointed with the style of it and with no stick too! Acura had lost it's edge, I couldn't believe they'd expect it to sell like the Legends did (and it hasn't) and the Legends were $41-$43k in 95.
But now, yes, I have considered buying the 03 with a stick, and have decided to overlook the styling. There's just not anything better out there for the money, that's not used, or German, or more expensive. My Legend friends say I'm crazy, that the CL has no where near the build quality of the Legend. I do read alot about rattles on the CLs, but I want a new drive before my Legend starts needing getting older. It's very tempting.

-spoiler
-wheel locks
-moonroof visor
-mudguards
1st off, here on Long Island, especially where i live in stop-n-go traffic, a stick is not the best thing to have, which is y i love SS
2nd, now that i know what the '03's got, im glad i didn't wait cuz i would've been VERY disappointed

out the door
28,300 is good deal. Not sure about wood grain either. So I paid 28K flat...they pushed me around but I said I wouldn't buy the car for more than 28K. It took two weeks and the same car had been on the lot so I know it was costing them to keep it there. No NAVI, but loaded otherwise (spoiler, mud flaps, locks, etc.). So I have less than 4.5K miles and the car was bought AUGUST 12th 2001. And here I am just wanting stick...I want to push for trade in with 2k$ even and flat out the door! ......what do you think?

I KNOW I could have waited. (Somewhat)
I had a 1994 Accord EX-L, STICK with 70K miles and in excellent condition.
I picked up the '01 CL-S on 04-May-00 for $28,900 (Non-NAV, but pretty much everything else).
Now it has just under 18K miles on it and in PERFECT condition.
Although I would love to get the 'stick' NOW, I am going to wait for a year or so. With that in mind, I had better NOT take one for a test drive any time soon!! :P

Grand Turismo
500
Had 500 miles on it so I got a 4,000 dollar discount off invoice. I had to drive to NYC to pick it up but the 4 hour drive back was great.
Came with Spoiler, Lock Nuts, Extra Interior Trim and Trailer Hitch and I got the extended "Used" warranty. 5 Years 62,000 miles Bumper to Bumper and 7 years 100,000 miles powertrain.
It was a hell of a deal.
