2000 5sp Prelude VS 01 CLS auto
Well I posted that I was suppose to race a S/C Jackson Racing Prelude a week ago. We never could get the time together but, his Buddy who has a 2000 NON S/C Prelude said he wanted to Run. His mods are I/E no Cat and Headers, 5 Speed. Mine are I/H and no Cat, Auto.
Well here's the outcome. From the dead start, I let him have the jump. When he moved I took off. I put 2 1/2 - 3 cars on him up to 60 mph.
We next started from a 15 MPH roll, same outcome 3 cars and walking up to 80 MPH.
Next got together from 70 MPH. I gained only 1 car from start and was wondering why not more, slowly had a 2 car lead before we shut down in traffic at 95 mph. I think I got into the Gear I hate the most ( 4th Gear Sucks ! ).
Each run the CLS was just getting fuirther and further away. The dead start blew the Prelude away the worst. The CLS just took off and was getting further everytime he shifted. And yes he can drive.
I saw the other post about Preludes taking CLS and I don't see how, the stock 0-60 times are a full Sec better on the CLS.
The Guy with the S/C Prelude still keeps making excuses, but.... I'm waiting. Maybe this week.

The only car I ever lost to with my previous Maxima 4AT was my buddy's bone stock Prelude 2.0 si (both older cars but fairly new at the time.) He nosed me by inches while beating the horse-piss out of the manual "Pre-Lube" up to about 60 when we quit as we were on city streets.
I was humiliated!
So, you don't think I should worry about Preludes with my current ride?
