2 Important Questions!! Urgent!!!
1. Hey guys, I'm goin to pick up my car on friday and i still have to make a decision on 2 things. I asked the dealer about a modifcation they add to the alarm system, which makes the alarm go off when someone hits the headlights (the first thing a theif does when intending to steal the HID's). They said this is really good because a theif wouldnt attempt to get the headlights once the alarm is going off, I was wondering if any of you had this and if it was a good investment, i think it's $395.
2. Have any of you gotten the side moldings to protect the doors from damage when something bangs into the car. The dealer said these are good too, I think they're a little less than $300. Give me your opinions please.
THANKS ALOT..........Adam

Not trying to sound spoiled or anything, my father wanted me to find out about these things, and he's not the kind of person that wants to get it done aftermarket. I just wanted to find out if these 2 things were worth any money at all, so if need be, I can get them installed by Friday.

the 1. is basically just a shock sensor... Available on ebay for less than $20
Any aftermarket stereo shop could do the same job for less than $100
IMHO dealer is trying to rip you off on #1
I don't know about #2 so I won't comment.

Since you're in Jersey and you Pops is payin' then get the HID alarm.
If your car isn't black (or a dark color) don't get the molding. It looks cheap IMO.

Where is my super sauce?
1) A shock sensor is a ~$20 part and a 1/4-1/2 hour install. Find out what they are offering to do for the $395 alarm upgrade - it may be worth it if there is really something else to the upgrade.
2) Door moulding looks horrible, IMHO.
