17000+ feedback @ 99.7% possitive (I got new x-drilled and slotted rotors)

I was in need of rotors and I decided to go with something that I have wanted for some time. I was looking for a while and then decided to go with R1 Concepts rotors off of eBay. Looking through their feedback and seeing that a few people were pretty happy with their rotors that they bought for their CL's and the fact that they have 17000+ feedback and its at 99.7% possitive convinced me even more. Either way, I am still breaking them in so they are not hitting right quite yet but like I said, they are still breaking in. I also got ceramic pads for them even though I didnt need new pads. So pricing goes like so: $160 shipped for the rotors (which are zinc plated) and $80 for pads (yes, Autozone pads..). Then about 3 hours putting them in but thats with about 3 beers and 12 calls for random things...

Pics!:

Iv got the same rotors, braking did not increase at all. If anything, they don't work as good as OEM. But they look sexy

Actually, the rotors that I took off (AutoZone cheap quick replacements that were on the car a little longer than I wanted) actually increased breaking power pretty damn well... I checked the thickness's of them OEM's and they were still within range. I dunno. I'm going to let them break in and see what happens. Worst comes to worst, I'll just have to get used to less braking power.

How are they holding up? Any warping or anything?

Good luck with them. I'd never buy those rotors after reading that post.

I've had my R1 rotors on for about 6k miles now and I'm totally happy with them. My braking power increased and they've held up really well, no cracks or warping. I did get the more expensive ones though so can't speak for the cheaper ones. My only gripe is with the ceramic pads I have. Not worth the dust and noise IMO, but I'd definitely get the rotors again in the future.

Sigh.

You can't base the overall approval of the rotors on the seller's feedback. People leave feedback as soon as they receive the product. You can't go back 4 months later and change it.

Based on the thread on the TL forum I wouldn't touch them.

Also something else I just thought of. I put my rotors on with the slots facing the other way. From what I've read about the direction of the slots, you want the slot to be parallel to the top of the pad when it's rotating toward the brake pad. You have them on the other way. I know a lot of people say it doesn't matter which way they face, but I'm starting to wonder if this is why you're not getting good braking? Just a thought.

I will look and see if I can find the instructions that came with my Rotora's. It had a page that talked about direction of the slots.... How do the R1's hold up rust wise?

The direction of the slots is based on the design. What is correct on one rotor may be incorrect on another.

You're probably right Steve, but if you don't know which way they go (because the R1 rotors don't have a L or R stamped on them) then I'd suggest the way they show it, which is the way I said. I also saw Rotora instructions for their slotted rotors and they had them this way, too.
