haha that's easy. take 9g and buy Allmotor's automatic version of the custom turbo kit and then take the rest and buy ronjon's CL Bodykit. If there's money left you should get other stuff you like.

trade-in your car + cash for a 6sp, then mod the 6sp.

OMG, 15K . You have come to the right place. Trade in the 01 for a 6-speed with navi. Then proceed to buying a Comptech super-charger, headers and exhaust. Tein SS-P's and a nice set of wheels and tires. The RonJon's three piece forged are nice. Then a Brembo Big Brake Kit. You will still have some left over for other crap like the stereo.

Enjoy. If you're having moral issues about spending all that cash on yourself, I am sure there are some guys here that will love a slice of the pie.

I'd pay off your car first!

In any case, why spend $15K on a car that's worth $15K? Just my $0.02 worth!

With the title in hand, you really can open up some possibilities...

Monthly improvements instead of monthly payments

2001 Acrua 3.2 cl Type S

The car is paid for.
My car has the triptronic shifting. So why would I want a 6 speed? I can shift faster now.

This is what I want to get.

Comptech super charger

Which is better?
Comptech Icebox air intake system
Icebox Cold Air Intake (01-03 3.2CL Type-S)
or
Injen Acura CL Type S, TL Type S 01-02 Race Division Cold Air Intake System Polished

Brakes:
Rotora Acura Cl Coupe 3.2 V6 01-03 Brake Kit; 4 Piston Front 330X23 1Pc Drilled/Slotted
or
BREMBO Big Brake Kit ACURA BLK Caliper-2pc Drilled-Front

What kind of clutch?
What transmission cooler kit?
What kind of lowering kit?

I'm getting the ronjon 4 piece body kit.
I'm also getting wheels But I can't decide between the "servo" or "inspyre".
What wheels are the best not just ronjon but any type.

What else? Maybe I will put 20K into the car.

Has anyone installed the diablo GT doors? If so how are they working out. Are they worth it?

Thanks,
Paul

The Comptech S/C comes with the icebox, so you would not need an intake
You don't need a clutch because you have an A/T

Good luck with your car!

I think its about 2500 to have the transmission built up. I would check with Mr. Steve on that. Or allmotor, or scalbert, or mattg, or any of the guys with the faster Cls (I know I forgot a bunch of people in here).

The automatic trannys are prone to failure. For me, the improvement will be getting the 6-speed.

I think Withoutcomp1 has lambo doors installed with his custom paint job. His car is on this thread.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166519
If you keep this car, a cool custom paint job with those doors will look cool.

Between the 2 RonJon wheels, I liked the Inspyres til I saw the 3 piece ones he has now. Look through the Photo Gallary to get an idea of what wheels you like.

To each his own, but spending more for mods, than a car is worth alone, is hard to understand. you must really love the 01 CLS automatic. I agree the CLS is a great car, esp. the 6 speed but...well have fun with the spending. I was gonna say too, buy a house but maybe you have one.

Metalspider, it depends what you trying to do and your goals. How much power is required? Will it be a daily driver, or fun car.

If auto is essential, Dr. Evil tranny (search) can make a custom for your 5AT.
Or find 6-speed and trade in.

RWD cars like G35 are good until your super/turbo charge them. Guys with those cars blowing motor left and right with only 6psi (hint - weak rods) and to make it solid it requires $$$ with to build the right block with low CR (compression ratio).

I disagree. People buying Civics for $3K and invest $12-15K in it and make it FAST and look great.

Money not a problem

I like the car and really want to mod it out keep it for a year or so and then maybe trade it for the new Maserati GT or just keep it as a toy.
I'm just looking for ideas of what to do. Moneys not really a issue.

Then, make the shit out of it - fun TOY.
I would build the performance first, then looks if you want.

1. Get Dr. Evil to produce 5AT w/LSD
2. Build the block
3. Get custom Turbo (check allmotor_2000 set up)
4. Get e-Manage FMU
5. Tuning
5. Build suspension
6. Rims/Tires/Brakes

and you golden and can kick some serious ass.

It will cost you though, at least $20K

To be 26 and for money 'not to be an issue' is a pretty bold statement. Either you struck it big in the stock-market when you were 20-21 or your parents really like you! Not to flame, but what exactly do you do - just my curiosity. Why not buy a new Maserati GT right now?

if money is not an issue, you would not be asking us, you would go to a custom shop getting the craziest shit done right now.....

Why the hell would you ask mortals for shit they only dream about...

Money is an issue buddy and for you to say you have 15K to spend on a 2001 proves it IMO!

Moneys not an issue, F^&* outa here...

Give a donation to your church or something, Sunhami could use that paper to.... hell I'm struggleling right now... Holla!

My story

Ok,
I'm a inventor.
I invented a non toxic insect killer called Bioganic it is on sale nation wide in 26k retail outlets. www.bioganic.com to learn more about it.
Back to my car:
I got the car new in 2001 it only has 44k miles on it. I came to this forum to look for ideas on what to do.
Today I went to a place called Japnese Automotive in Alphretta, GA and they will do the work for me. I will drop the car off next week.
This is what I've decided to do to it so far:
Dr. evil trans
Full Body kit
Comptech super charger
Brembo brake kit
lower the car
Ronjon Rims
Trans cooler kit
Strut tower bar
Comptech 304 Stainless Steel Dual Muffler cat-back
Headers and Downpipe
GT Factory Diablo door kit
etc.

Dude, give the guy a break. There are those in this world that are the have's and have nots, those who only dream, those envious, the list goes on. People are what they make of themselves.

It sounds to me that this newbe wants to play with this car. It's in my opinion bad taste to ask someone where they get their money, and similararly bad taste to wave it around too. But regardless of his delivery, he likes the car and wants to mod it.

As for those who say, why spend 15k on a car that is worth 15k. So what, that's what we are all about. It's a losing investment in money terms, but it's the enjoyment that is being paid for. For those of us that bought these cars new, and a year later they've depreciated 7-9k, is that any better of an investment?

Dude, you want a fixed up ride, here's my 2 cents, A 6 spd would be better, but the beefed up auto tranny would work. I'd go with a 3.5 conversion, with a SC, and you'd have all the fun in the world and still have some $$ left over. PM me if you want some details on a 3.5 or automatic mods. I've got a great inside track to it. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Damn, sounds legit to me, lol. If you really want to go the extra mile, get the Kit we are making molded, and repaint the car a fresh custom color. You can even get the 3-Piece forged wheels with the same custom painted colored face and a Mirror finished lip. Now that would be SICK! While

Sounds like a little more than 15k in mods, but it sounds like it will be a sweet car. Don't forget to post pics when its done.

And mold the RonJon kit when it comes out. Thats what I plan on doing, except no color change for me.
