15K service necessary?

My car is due for a 15k service, however I don't need an oil change, fluids, or tire rotation.

So my question is, do I pay for a 15k service just to get the visual inspections and receipt so I can say I have performed all scheduled maintenance?

Any opinions valued, especially those who work in the industry.

nope, not worth it, just reset the maintainance light yourself and forget about it...then spend the money you saved on a new mod!!

as long as you do the MAJOR scheduled maintainance (i.e. oil changes, tranny flush, etc) you will be fine...all that visual inspection crap is just a ploy for dealers to make more money off you for selling you the car at a good price!! screw that...i can inspect my brakes and shit myself...how hard is that?? yup, brakes are fine....or uh oh..time for new pads...im not spending 200 bucks to have someone tell me that crap....

Yeah, don't make that mistake.

If you have something that needs to be done, i.e. transmission fluid or brakes, make it real clear and specific in writing what you want done, and NOTHING ELSE.

When your car is around 15k, They might charge you for this
service and tell you that it needed it. (what ever that means.)

and if they charged you for something you did not request, make um caugh it up in free oil changes or something. That's what I
did.

my pennys worth

yeah... save your money for 30K full checkup.
Use your manual as a reference of things that need to be done. Allow dealer to do only things they supposed to do, don't let them do sh*t you don't need.

Thanks all for the quick response.
It seems unanimous....screw the 15k service.

My biggest fear is that they would give me a total package price and I would have to negotiate down based on the things I didnt's want.

My second biggest fear was that they would drain all that nice new clean Mobil 1 anyways (because they forgot I told them not to) and put in something that used to be part of a dinosaurs a-hole.
