15,000 Mile Maintenance at David McDavid?

Has anyone had this service at David McDavid Acura in Plano, TX? I'm due for it and was wondering what to expect as far as price, what they do, experiences, etc. Thanks in advance.

It wasn't that bad I don't think.

No problem man!!

I just had my 22,500 done there a couple weeks ago. It only cost me about $85 or so.

Little Elm is just north of The Colony and just west of Frisco. It is on the Collin/Denton county line, but falls in Denton county. I will be in the Frisco school district though Best of all worlds, with regards to schools/taxes/etc.

It is actually only 10 miles from where I live now at Preston/Legacy. So it isn't actually that far out there.

Hey AvengerJr.. you freak. I'm suprised I don't run into you more often. I don't know if you remember but I live in Frisco now (Warren & Legacy) and I take Legacy to Preston to work everyday. I guess you must only come out at night or somethin' :P

mcdavid 15K

$295 last week. What a ripp-off for a glorified oil change.
Bonus: dinged my bumper while spotting the car for pick up. Double bonus: fixed the bumper but in the process oversprayed my entire car with a fine mist of some sort.
Took me 1.5 days of elbow grease with Meguiar to get it off again. Next day got the service questionaire phone call. Now they know how I really feel...
You can save $100 and go to Autohaus off 15th and Custer.

Good grief, the owner should have gotten a name change before opening his dealership. Who the heck would buy something from "David McDavid"? :P

$295? Man that sucks Rootbeer. Any idea what they put on your car?

I hate it when DMD 'tries' to clean my car. They suck ass at doing windows, and leave wayyyy too much armour all on the tires. They try to clean it everytime I take it in and always do a horrid job. It pisses me off to no end. And I just KNOOOW they're using sub par products to clean it. I need to make sure when I take it in next time to tell them NOT to make a shitty attempt at washing it.

Hey, I got a call from Acura today too about my new tranny... I told her it felt weaker than before, but it drives great. She was like "great, glad to hear your car is driving good!" and basically hung up the phone. I didn't really care b/c I was in the middle of something at work.

Hey, dude, you'll be just 3-4 miles NW of me. I live in the Trails of West Frisco off 720. Lookout for the coyotes if you have pets.

$295!!!! that's ridiculous. i can't believe that shit. does anyone have any experience with autohaus??? i've also heard of a place called honda house that i may call. it's not the money per se that they are charging that pisses me off, it's their huge ego that makes them think they can charge that, espically after reading what other people here have paid at their dealers for the same service.

the dealer i bought my car from was planning on charging me $251 for the 15k service plus he was gonna add another $80 for a wheel alignment that he claims i need, all for a grand total of $331, plus i wanted a chrome license plate frame, they were gonna charge me $45. What the FUCK. so i call another acura dealer and they said that the 15k service costs $176 that i dont need a wheel alignment unless my car is pulling and they have a chrome plate frame over there for $9.99. plus he said hes gonna look for a discount coupon for me for the service. now thats service. what pisses me off is how i was treated by the dealer i bought my car from. ill never go back there again.

I have no idea what they sprayed on my car. It had to be some paint or primer product where they just left my car too close to another one they were working on or did not cover it up. I had completed the Meguiar 3 step only two days earlier and my ride was as shiny as can be. I told them "No Wash" and they even put a big sticker on the dash, so at least initially they did that part right. On top when I finally come to pick it up on Wed after they painted the bumper, they had not reinstalled my rear license plate and it was lying on my passenger side, small detail, but if they can forget to do that, what else did they forget?
On the bright side. they called back and said they were sorry for the paint mess-up and would give me a free oil&filter next time in. With their pricing, probably an $85.- value...
BTW, I messed up, Autohaus is off Independence, not Custer.

remember not all dealers charge the same, also some may include things that technicians feel are important and add them to the regular service, some may go by the book, just ask them, if there is something extra they are reccomending, and ask them why
