14.2 @ 98, Sweet track times today!!!

Man what a day at the track, no one from the board came to join me though, everybody was too busy w/ finals n shit.

I got to the track when they first opened so i can a lot of runs in. I got 15 runs in within the first hour.
I ran a total of 20 times.

My best run was my 6th run heres the specs:

r/t----.545
60'---2.221
330'--6.082
1/8 et--9.229
1/8 mph--77.72
1/4 et--14.274
1/4mph--98.68

As the day went on the traction got worse and worse cause all the v8 domestics were tearin some shit up. I ran like 7 14.3's and 8 14.4's. The rest of the runs were 14.5-14.7 range.

I ran against alot of cars on my "list" today.
-tied an srt 4 neon
-beat 2 stangs, 1 auto billet coupe w/ intake, and another auto vert
-ls1's are fuckin quick, i can hang w/ em till the 1/8th mark then they haul ass, i ran against a t top ws6 w/ a lid, it ran 13.2!!!

-60 degrees out
-gas light on
-20 psi up front
-40 psi in back
-stock tires and springs!!!
-gutted trunk
-gateshifting on every run

I need to get this slipped scanned i aint got a scanner.

Nice work! With a few more mods, you might be able to get 14 flat.

Wow very impressive time! I can only hope to pull that good of a time when I finally get my mods installed!
My best so far is 15.022 with no mods what-so-ever.

i best run before the intake and headers was 15.0 too, practice your gate shifting if u want low 14's. the first 60' is the most important though.

Are you running on the stock tires? I would sit there and spin most of the time. Did you try lowering the front tire pressure? That seemed to help me a lot

You got all 20 runs in w/ the fuel light on?!! That's pretty cool, how many gallons did you tank take when you filled up after the track meet?

i think 46% humidity

i was trying to break your record for the fastest auto bolt on matt g, plus u got pulley's and echaust over me.
if it was 15 degrees cooler i woulda had the crown, but u cant say what if

i got there w/ the fuel light on, made like 5 runs, filled up @ the track w/ like 2 gallons

i think i over worked the cl-s, i should of let the car cool down so i can get better times, after my 10th run the car didnt hook up as well, or maybe it was over heated, i made 15 runs in the first hour.

i was trying to do the same last friday, but i only got in 4 runs.

my first run was a 14.38 @ 99.26, which is my quickest first run ever, by a tenth or 2.

i have no doubts that if the weather would have been a little less humid, and i would have gotten my normal 10+ runs i would have seen a 14.0 or 13.9.

were you using any race gas?

DARRINB your my inspiration!! =) I have the exact mods you do.. obx headers and CAI.. the only difference is mine is a 2001.. and what do you mean by gutted trunk!??!. all including the carpeting?. or just the spare and jack?..
and how much do you weigh if u dont mind me asking...

does anyone know if its wise to drop the tire pressure to 20 psi on low profile tireS (40 )?.. b/c i got my rims on already..
will my 18s slow me down even though its much lighter than the stock wheels/tires setup??!.. cant get better than 15.0xx last year.. but it was pre headers and i had almost 1/2 tank and the spare in trunk... and 18s.. and im not light.. +) help pls....

darrinb, hey seriously you can break 14 or even get a low 13 in if you try that method of stripping your car down to the body frame like in that thread sometime ago. Strip all the windows, take the trunk lid off, remove the hood, and put on some mini cooper spare wheels for the rears. I bet you'll be the fastest auto. But when you do, be sure to take some movie clips!

That's funny as hell - just intake and headers... and not even Comptech headers, and he pulls a 14.2!

Awesome.

Great time! My advice would be add a nx kit and dip into the low 13s! Not trying to jack your thread but I am trying to get rid of my kit because they totaled my cls. I pulled a 13.4 with a 75 shot, hks axel back and aem intake in an 2001 auto (with my heavy ass 12s and my spare). Keep up the good work!

its a good thing ur car was totalled.. i dont think the shitty. auto tranny will handle too many 75 shot runs...
isnt a 55shot enough to reach 13s?.. mid-high 13s??..

All depends. Don't get addicted and a 75 shot is fine. I only used it at the track and that was only every couple of months. Don't spray in first and don't redline and its fine. I had no evidence of tranny problems.
