Dealership wanted $1100 here in NJ for water pump and timing belt and check fluids and other BS little things I got it done for 600 from local shop maybee it was 695?
I have another question@@
I look over my service records, previous owner replaced the water pump when 15k service. my CL is in 80k right now, do i have to replace again when 100k with timing belt??

It would be more cost effective to do it while they have the parts out and are getting the timming belt put in.

I always replace the water pump when doing a timing belt. It just doesn't make sense to leave it when you're already right there at it. Better safe than sorry I say. I also replace the tensioner, idler, and all accessory belts. Basically any wear item that I have immediate access to, get's replaced while I'm in there.
most obvious reason would be that it was defective and replaced under warranty...........and yes you want to replace the pump when they do the belt becuase it sucks to have to pay big ass labor to basically do the same thing again as you would for a timing belt......
There was a Timing Belt Tensioner recall back in the fall of 2003. Depending on what the "number" was on your water pump, it was replaced at the same time under warranty. Nothing sinister here. In my case, the number was not "the" specific number, but my dealership replaced it anyway (under warranty).
If the timing belt was replaced as a part of the Tensioner Recall which took place in the fall of 2003, then your clock for the replacement of both starts at 15k.
