1-Hour Old

I am a 2001 CL-S owner as of 1 hour ago. Just got back from my first drive. I also own a C5 Corvette and feared that the CL-S would be a dissapointing drive compared to my C5. My first driving impression was anything but dissapointing. In fact I am extreamly impressed with the ride and the feel of power that this car provides. When I bought the CL-S I was thinking that I might sell the C5 but wanted to give it some time to see how much I liked the CL-S and how much I would miss the feeling of the C5. I can tell you now that after my first drive I am much more comfortable with the thought of selling the C5. In fact, if my impression from the first drive continues I don't think it will be hardfor me to sell the Corvette at all.

And once you get headers, and an intake, along w/ some better tires ( if they aren't already better then stock) - You will love the CL-s even more--But, since you already seem to like it - Wait a month and do it, that way you wont get tired of it as quick

why wouldn´t it be hard for you to sell the vette? a vette will be my next purchase and was wondering how you would compare the two (ride, handling, materials, fit a finish, etc.)

Congrats on the purchase.

When you say you may sell your C5 now is it b/c the Vette really isn't suited as a true daily driver and now that you have the CL, while nowhere near as fast, will still suit you better then going from a C5 to a Kia??

Congrats fellow CL-S owner. So now you can go fast with more people in the car to witness! The C5 is a bad ass car though for going fast! Enjoy the new car smell and update us on whatever mods you do.

Well the thing is that I have been using the C5 for a daily driver for almost 2 years. Don't get me wrong, the C5 is a great car in it's own way, but very differernt from the CL-S. The CL-S is much more refined and comfortable to drive as I have become tired of the C5 "buckboard" ride and noisy uncomfortable interior for daily use. Of course the C5 rocks for raw power and cooking tires all thgough the gears. No doubt the C5 gets alot of attention as well, but after two years of every damn person bluting out "nice car man" and every freekin dork revving their engine and wanting to race everytime I make a stop light, it does get old. And maybe I am getting old as well, but I am just ready for something more comefortable and refined. The C5 is of less quality, and feels cheap in alot of ways. It has also been a rattle bucket over the 30k miles I have on it. But damn, it shure as hell can put you back in your seat and I know I will miss that rush if I sell it. But I am just tired of dealing with all of it's unrefined characteristics on a daily basis.
