1/4 mile times
Im not sure if this is the right section but i couldn't think of anywhere else to post it. Out of curiosity what is everyones 1/4 mile time in all honesty? I ran a 14.9 in a 2001 cl-s 80k miles. temp was 94 degrees outside and no mods with slight weight reduction.

Where did you run at? Whats the elevation? I also did a 14.9 at 5000 ft elevation with just a CAI, and Option UD pulley.
I think my trap speed was about 97 mph maybe 98. been awhile. I was there with a friend that had a SC'ed 6 speed and he was only running 14.1. but his traps were I think up around 106, 107.
You don't have any mods at all?

I am guessing you have a 6spd? At 5000ft elevation the Auto would be in the low 16's with traps around 87-88MPH. Here in tucson at SIR where the Elevation is 3075ft a stock Acura CL-S auto is running 15.9@89MPH in cold dry weather. Even 6spd CL-S acuras are running low 15's here.
This was at the Pueblo Motor Sport park in Pueblo Colorado. It was in OCT I think so it was also chilly.

I could be getting the trap speed mixed with my other car, but the cls did pull a 14.9 best. Ussually it was running 15.3's. But no, I'm auto trans. I did remove the back seats, and passanger seat, and of course the spare tire and stuff. I had the tires down to about 10 psi. If I remember right the 60 ft on the 14.9 run was 1.9.

On th launch I was able to mash it to the floor and got very very little tire spin at 10 psi. It just hooked and went. I let the tranny do all the shifting,I decided not to use my superior gate shifting skillz I could tell right away it was going to be a good time.

That is copied from the car and driver article on the supercharged CL. They got a 1/4 time of 14.2 with the supercharger and you are saying someone who got a 14.1 dsn't know how to drive? He did better than whoever the magazine had drive their car.
The supercharger adds power but it dsn't really help our quater mile times as much because you cant get the power down. The supercharger is best for passing speeds.

"On launch, the extra power becomes wheelspin and hop. The limited-slip differential that is standard with the manual-transmission CL Type-S subdues torque steer, but the 2.3-second 0-to-30-mph clocking was identical to that of the blown CL and a stock example tested the same day, and the 5.7-second 0-to-60 time was a scant 0.3 second quicker. The supercharger's push comes at higher velocities—it gets to 130 mph in just 23.6 seconds compared with the stock machine's 33.0. And in top-gear acceleration, the trip from 50 to 70 takes just 9.4 seconds as opposed to the stock car's 11.3-second time. But the start leaves the quarter-mile ET just a half-second quicker than stock at 14.2 seconds with a 104-mph trap speed."

i did 14.3 completly stock and i saw guys with mods that they did 13.8-13.7.
i did 14.3 only once and my average was 14.5
you must remember that adding supercharger you also adding the weight to the front end.
sticky tires headers pulley cai thermal gaskets and i would say '10 TL SHAWD IM are best mods you can do. also lightweight 17's will help alot. removing only passenger seat you can get there quicker 0,1 - 0,2 s
i would try to go there again and see what is the differenace now but my motor mounts aint best condition so i'll wait.
my wish is to hit the high 13" but i think with my 18 wheels that will be difficult

i can tell that with good launch i should ran flat 14 or a bit beelow but i could feel that when you shift there is a engine movement that doesnt help and wheel hop... i have videos but nothing really worth to upload
i beat 2010 STI and lose with e46 M3 this shit was stock and ran 13.3 so please dont tell me that anyone that owe CL can beat it.

a TL though, but anyways a 16.1 with the automatic, then 15.3 with the 6-speed, then a 14.5 with roughly a 60 shot of the (and that is not with the best of launches either; still working on that )
and it is bandimere speedway also at 5800 feet (also the track scales says the car weighs 3550 with me in it too)

Thats in Denver Colorado. If I remember right when I lived in Colorado Springs, I did one calculator that said the CLS with 260 hp would loose about 42 HP at 6000Ft elevation.

but if we wanted lower we would have to go out east a bit (and don't forget that Colorado is the highest state in altitude overall)
also remember i said "without the best of launches", which is going to add to the time some
and because of less power, i don't accelerate as fast, so it makes me have to actually shift into 4th gear, basically right at the end of the track, which does not help times either

if you listen to it closely and volume up you can hear how the engine woble(sp?) after rough shift...

Thats alot 0.5s should give me 13.6 and i would incredibly happy if i did. I dont know what ppl run the first 60ft i dont think thats there alot to improve but still if i run below 2.1 i would be happy
What was your 60ft jacob?
On the back i have 235/40 bridgestones with alot more meat. I may switch it over to a front to improve the grip at the launch. I lowered pressure to 20psi at the front it helped alot too.
